Hey, I'm back!

I stayed up this morning checking out the forums that I belong to, then got sleepy at 1:00 p.m. and crashed on the recliner after I let Belle in (it was getting hot outside). But I didn't wake up until about 6:30 p.m.... Oh well, one of these days, I'll get it right... when I have something to stay up for.

I even had breakfast... in the MORNING!!! Amazing isn't it?

I just posted this on our camera club web page for my friend ;)

offer to pay towards the cost of the trip. (especially those who ask to be picked up, dropped off....fed, watered, and entertained)

I found, since I had to take my 8 seater van, purely to add in a member who didn't have a car for the day, cost me well over $100 in fuel, plus
the present I got in appreciation for my friend, who kindly opened up her home to us, gave us a warm bed for the night, a hot shower..loads of coffee, and the offer of brekky. She didn't know the club members at all, so that was fantastic of her to allow a handful of strangers into her home

So, to those who contributed to the cost, thanks so much ( you all know who you are!)

For those who think we are happy to run around after you, pick you up, and drop you off..well over 40 minutes extra travel, without
any offer of even 1c petrol money...you can drive yourself next time ( you know who you are..)

now the hard work starts LOL..getting fit and strong

I've started exercising... going light at first. Hopefully.. I can get some weight off. I'm only supposed to do exercises while sitting because of the back injuries...so we'll see what happens.

The heat has been a huge drain on my energy lately.. so having to really stay inside.

As strange as it may sound for the UK, it's hot here too. I'm sitting here with a fan pointed at me and going non-stop. Thankfully we have this shopping centre that has air-conditioning so at least shopping isn't too much of a chore in the heat. I'm not a hot weather type person. Being a redhead I avoided the sun as much as I could. I don’t even mind staying in but we have to get the kids out sometime.

I have window units in the house... it helps.

I would think if it does blow any air, it would be that your car's a/c is out of freon. But it probably would cost less to just stay indoors, if you can.

I wouldn't say humid no. It's probably not even that hot compared to some places. The trouble is we are not used to it, and so it seems to bring everything to a standstill and is then followed by a rain shower. I’m one of the lucky ones at least I don’t have to go out in it. I do feel for people who drive into London every day in this heat though. I have been told to stop complaining about the heat cause it will be cold again soon enough. That will just give me something else to complain about. I don’t like the cold either. lol

Even though I had some problems as a "young" (ahem... *clears throat*) mother... okay, when I was Younger as a new mother... yeah, that's better (more of the truth), my son would make me laugh a lot... then he told me one day (when he was in H.S.) that he thought I did the right thing by putting him in Day Care because he grew up more secure than if he was kept home away from a lot of kids.

This is an emachine that my mother in law had until sis in law got her a laptop.

The one in the shop LOL ... is a dell that we added 149 of gb to... brother is fixing that one up and we should have no problem for a while. Dell is 6 yrs old. But has been really good for us... except for kids adding so many pictures (hence adding the 149 GB)..lmbo

Son is having a 'not sleeping' night (again) and Im trying to stay awake in the hopes he will eventually fall asleep instead of waiting for me to go to sleep then dismantling the house....sigh...

I actually tried to go to sleep earlier. I went to bed, but couldn't sleep.. even with earplugs (sometimes they won't stay in, though:mad:).

But, Ravenna, I can sure relate... when my son was a baby and I'd take him to a lady's house - who had a daycare, sort of. But my son wouldn't sleep at night and it was bothering me because I had to go to work (I wished I had stayed home with him for his first 6 months and went back to work, at the school, the following school year - I could've done that). Then I found out that the lady who was keeping him and a bunch of other kids (with NO help), would let the kids sleep for THREE hours while she watched her soap operas... no wonder he wouldn't sleep. I showed up early the next day and saw them scurrying around in the house (her son and mother). And when I came in, they wouldn't let me back there. Then I noticed that all the diapers that I had in his diaper bag were still in there... she would wait until I got there to change his diaper. I finally took him out of there and took him to another daycare center at a church. She wouldn't let him crawl around, she'd keep him in a playpen or the high chair until I came and got him. I figured this out because when I got home and tried to put him in the high chair so I could get some housework done, he fought like crazy. The last time I took him to that lady's house, he fought me and clung to me and cried... then I cried on the way to work... I felt so bad. I (and my son) was a lot better after we got him out of there and in the church daycare center.

I had to tell this story because I didn't know how old (or young) your son is or if he's in school yet. Or if you work outside of your home and have to take him to daycare.

My son is 10 but he's never been a big sleeper (my 14 year old and I get insomnia pretty bad sometimes too - not that this helps me know if its adhd related or not because we all have it lol). We're playing with his meds at the moment because the doc thinks he cant sleep because his dose is too high (was 10mg normal rit and a 40 or 50mg concerta in the mornings - brain wont work so not sure of the dose there atm, and another 10mg at lunch.....now we're trialling 10mg normal rit and 30 or 40 mg slow release rit in the morning, again not entirely sure re dose there atm, and a catapress at night (not sure of the dose again...lol...) anyway the slow release is 10mg less and we're not having the top up at lunch, plus we're having the catapress - which we did try a few years ago without much luck but who knows...)

I had no end of trouble with daycares when they were smaller (been solo since the 10y/o was 6mths so Im so glad I dont have to deal with that anymore, now its just the schools...sigh.... but we've found some really great caring schools that are willing to work with us above and beyond the call of duty and its making a huge difference - my eldest went to 5 different primary schools and the youngest has been to 3, but we've been at the schools they are at now for about 3 or 4 years now (time periods are hard for me without a solid reference (eg, which house we were in, which job I was in etc) and right now I cant think of one, sorry)

I think I may have messed up the parenthesis there....I use too many lol....my mind skips about a bit, sorry.

Hey, y'all! Taking a Benadryl worked, I went to bed earlier and slept so good! And I didn't go back to bed... and don't feel tired!!! I'm going to have to do that again... and get my sleep scheduled straightened out once and for all!!! Besides if I sleep all day, then try to get on the 'puter shortly before my hubby gets home, and lets the dog in, and... turns on the tv... I can't concentrate anyway... so, this is better!!! Yay!!!

I usually use the microwave for frozen dinners... etc... But every once in awhile I'll make tacos (sooooooooo good!)...

Good idea... maybe a caterer who understands ADD/ADHD'ers??? Probably doesn't matter... as long as we have $$ (for a little while, anyway), caterers should love us!:eek::D

But, a virtual caterer (for online "snack/drink" bars) should be free! The best things in life are free:rolleyes::D, well, almost:eek:
