Hey guys,

I'm currently taking 50mg Vyvanse and a 10mg Dexedrine booster around 6pm. I find that the Dexedrine IR tablets work a lot better in terms of effectiveness. However, I do enjoy the ability to buckle down and focus at any time throughout the day (hence the Vyvanse).

On the other hand, I don't know how I feel about being on medication during all waking hours. I really only need the medication during lectures or for when I'm studying.

However, I find that I become greatly fatigued when the medication wears off. Also, I'm not much of a fan of the appetite suppression given that I am an athlete and should be eating more. Can anyone relate to these symptoms?

What are your thoughts? Should I perhaps try the Dexedrine spansles? How do these compare to something like Vyvanse? Or, should I get off the Vyvanse and strictly use the Dexedrine IR tablets intermittently?

To me, I think you should get some more Dexedrine IR tablets.

I'm using XR right now, and IMO I'd much prefer to take IR because you have much more control over your dose. Think of a manual versus an automatic transmission... one gives you a lot more control over power sent to the wheels, but takes more responsibility to drive. The other is just jam it in gear and go easymode.

Having to take more pills is a small price to pay versus only being able to take your pills in the morning to avoid sleep deprivation problems.

The XR has a definite "dip" in effectiveness about 3-4 hours in too which kinda sucks. I'm gonna ask my doc for IR next time I see him personally.

XR is nice if you're too scatter brained to keep track of multiple pills (like me), but having more control over the roller coaster is worth it IMO.
