I like how they determine the child's behavior can affect and change to parent(s) behaviors. That many parents seem "overcontrolling and over intrusive" but it seems to be more a response to just try to handle your AD(H)D child, and also the various ways that the primary problem-inattentiveness-can be expressed.

Why not?

Dopamine, taken orally/IV, etc, does not cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB), that's why.

:)

And L-Dopa has side effects (like 'augmentation'), etc.

Augmentation sounds like H-E-L-L. (Ask any Parkinson's sufferer.)

The US Surgeon General's Report ( Chapter 3) is one of my all time favorite references.

Ive posted this before but will quickly do so again: A Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician form the Philadelphia area that I was priviledged to see about 5 years ago, responded to the question of "Why can't you just use L-Dopa to treat ADHD?" Her answer was "Because it (L-Dopa) can't cross the blood brain barrier to get to where Dopamine "travels" throughout the brain (i.e., the Mesocortical Pathway)."
