Hey Everyone. . .I just had a question about dex. . .
I'm in exam time right now, stressing out and all the norm, but I find my meds arent working like they should. The doc increased my dosage (from 15-25mg) but after two or three days of 25mg i find they arent working again. I saw my doc again and he said that my brain could be 'de-regulating' or something like that.
I can understand what he means in terms of my brain rejecting it, but this seems a little too fast and weird. I really dont want to keep up'ing my dosage.
So I was wondering, could it be the stress thats nullifying the effects? I just dont really feel any more of that rush and that uber drive, although I think its still helping me focus a bit. . .
Any thoughts!??
Thanks
I cant definitely relate to your situation especially right in the middle of final exams!
The 'feeling' or rush that you are referring to might not be there but remember that's not supposed to be what meds do. So don't confuse that with the intended effects: improved focus, ability to concentrate, decreased distractibility etc.
Before you outright reject the meds as 'not working anymore' try taking a day or two off and than trying again. Finally, I agree final exams might not be the best time
to be sorting out meds, try asking around to see if you can defer/write your exams a week or two later (depending on what University you go to, you might be surprised)

That might be my biggest problem, I'm not sure what the drugs are supposed to do. . . I keep looking for this initial 'wave' or 'rush' (i get really motivated and really 'into' everything if that makes sense).
Is that supposed to happen? I'm worried that I am looking for the wrong things in these medications. . .

Def. stress can play a huge role. I'm personally 24 and in school, and I feel that same kind of feeling with the medication sometime. Your 25mg dose is like what I take at once (20) . IF your going through exams, or about too and your worried with your medication (is this too little? do I really need this? could it be hurting my brain??) your just compounding things.
I taking a wild guess, but I bet your sleep isn't that great - you might be getting 7hrs but are you feeling rested...??
I was just reading an article from the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry called "Managing ADHD in Children, Adolescents, and Adults With Commorbid Anxiety" They report that 47.7% of adults with ADHD had an anxiety disorder (stats from the "National Comorbidty Survey Replication (NCS-R)" ??) This is just what I read , interesting to say the least . I just wondering if more of a stimulate antidepress might be better (Wellbutrin or Effexor) . Not a doctor, , .. just throwing it up in the air.
take care

Did you just start using dex? You usually get euphoria only on the first couple times using the dosage size. You are not supposed to aim for it, do not increase your dosage to get it.
