Does anyone else use caffeine to combat some of the drowsiness caused by Strattera? Does anyone know how caffeine may effect Strattera?

Using caffeine was the only way strattera worked. i did not see side effects but everyone is different.

I had to quit caffiene. I love coffee and it was my ADD medication for years. But it reduced the effectiveness of strattera for me, so I have to stop. Now, no caffeine and Strattera is working wonders.

Did the Strattera start working better after you quit the caffeine? Or did the caffeine make the Strattera ineffective? I wonder if caffeine is making Strattera less effective for me.

I drank about 3 cups of coffee before starting Strattera and I still do. The strattera seems pretty effective despite the coffee.

Hi,

I just started Strateera 2 days ago and i noticed my mind is racing even more. I have anxiety and I am craving chocolate. Is this normal in the beggining ? It's like i am high !! I am getting a little depressed and I am unable to have any motivation to do anthying. Are these the side affects ? I am on 10 mg and i am 29 and the doc was saying based on my weight i should be on 80mg ... If i can't handle 10mg how i am going to handle 80mg. Also I am very tired

Yes. Strattera works better for me after I stopped caffeine.

For my its the the other way around.
Caffine and Stratta for me work well together. It seems to help the strattera kick in faster.

... just a thought...

have any of you or do any of you take your strattera at night?

That way... by the time morning comes along.. most of the sleepy side effects will be used up by sleep... and hopefully make it easier to start the day.

Hello,
I'm 22 on a 25mg dosage. For myself strattera seems to make me more sensitive to the effects of caffine. I usually can only drink 1 cup of coffee and not only will I be wired the whole day, but my mind is everywhere. I hear people drinking 2-3 cups a day and wonder how? :P I feel tired about 2-3 hours after taking the pill for roughly 1-1.5 hours (with and without coffee). Basically I find it makes the drug less effective as well.
