Well, here's another Strattera story, but this one's a little different.

I'd say I'm on my 4th week of it. I started off on 2 weeks of 40mg and now moved up to 60mg. I take it usually at around 8:00 pm because it helps me sleep if I take it about 4 hours prior to bed. Well, my main question is, when will this kick in? Everyone says 'oh about a month' and I'm around that time. I'm just worried because I have finals soon and this stuff has yet to help me focus on my school work and in class. Does my body not accept this new medicine because of the amount of Adderall IR I was taking? (90mg a day). Also, if it is around Finals time and I still cannot focus, will taking Adderall completely mess everything up? I feel as if medicines just don't work for me and the only one that did (Adderall), made me go freaking insane . I'm just tired of 'giving it time'. I'm a patient person up to a certain extent. I've really got to nail these finals in order for my credits to transfer out. If not, then $40,000 just went down the drain lol.

Also, people were telling me that 90mg (of Adderall) wasn't too healthy for my liver. I hear some things about Strattera hurting your liver even more. I'm a college kid, I drink. I won't stop because I like to have a beer with my meal or go out and have a drink with someone after class. So, adding Strattera + Alcohol makes it worse, right?

Sorry if these questions have been posted before, I haven't had a legitimate answer that's straight forward.

I noticed that it kicked in for less than a week for me. I began to notice small cognitive differences and I was better able to articulate. Your Adderall intake could have an effect on how your body now handles the Strattera, but after 4 weeks you should notice some changes. It may even be 6 weeks till you notice any changes. I don't think taking Adderall will mess everything up. The company that makes Strattera actually suggests staying on your stimulants until the Strattera actually kicks in. If Adderall made you go insane, why risk it though? I wouldn't drink with Strattera because it might put a strain on your liver. Plus alcohol really mixes up the chemicals in your brain causes them to become unbalanced at times. So it could actually be pretty counterproductive when it comes to concentration.

Yeah, I talked to my friends who've been on Strattera and they said it's unusual that it's taking this long. It sucks because I have finals this week and I don't know what to do. I can sleep on Strattera, but on Adderall IR I'm up for 3 days straight.
