Is this normal? She has done this before and I think it's bazaar. She is diagnosed with bipolar & gad (I'm ADHD which is why Im here) and anyhow, this last week she has been moody as heck, since going on Xanax and spent the last week formulating thoughts that she was thinking of cutting again, suicide via overdose and other crazy thoughts. She is searching on the internet about stuff, almost like she is prepping her information or stories to insure her entry into the hospital.
She goes to see the doc tomorrow afternoon. She has on her to do list to get a haircut, earplugs and other things she needs while in the hospital. She has been their 5 times in the last 2 years, and this preparation is not uncommon for her, one or more time, got a manicure before going in.
Sadly, it's not a fun place to go and she is ready to leave after a day because its very structured and she hates that. But, she seems to forget that she gets NO help at the hospital, the goal is just to stabilize then they send you home.
One time she went to her doc having done a lot of "prep" work only to not get the recommendation, and she responded with cutting herself and then call the doc office to say she was going in and basically making the decision for herself.
Is this normal thinking for those with bipolar?
