Hello everyone.
I am new to all of this. I just made an appointment to go next week and have my ADD test. Which I pretty much know is going to be conclusive of my case.
I have been reading on here for a month or so before registering today. Basically just trying to see what everyone was using and what kind of success they have had with their regimine.
Ok, here is some info about me.
Mid 30's. I don't drink, don't drink coffee, use tobacco, any kind of rec drugs, fairly active with exercise, gosh I don't know what all to include.
Basically I have always had a HARD time learning and concentrating on tasks. For instance, I am returning to school soon to finish up my course work and I know that it is going to be like the last times. Where I simply go through all the efforts to enroll, show up for class and then open my books and tune out. I simply can not focus or concentrate on anything for longer than 5 mins before my mind starts wandering and day dreaming. I have access to thousands of online training classes that would greatly benefit me IF I could actually focus on them for longer than two minutes. And when I do force myself to watch them, I do not retain anything. I am very unmotivated, more so in the last few years than ever. I used to love photography and won many shows with my work. Now days I rarely do it. I just bought a very expensive new lens about 2 months ago and it is still in the box. I really wanted/needed this lens for a particular type of photography I was going to start doing, saved up, bought the lens and then lost all interest in using it.
As you can see, my focus is all over the place and faltering.
Can anyone tell me (although after reading the board for a month, I know it is impossible to do so as it is a trial and error thing) what type of meds the psych may start me off with? My main concern is that I simply can not afford to take something that will interfere with my libido and sex drive. I know that sounds insecure and shallow, but I simply can not handle that.
Also, I would like to avoid things that may interfere with my appetite as well. I am a bodybuilder and my genetics do not allow me to maintain the size I have without frequent feedings. It takes a lot of food everyday to stay a competitive size.
Sorry to ramble, just very anxious.
