Right, I've been given mirtazapine (remeron) to help with anxiety/depression and insomnia. It's really good for those things BUT...

I have really, really odd dreams. I've always had quite surreal dreams but the ones I'm having now are just far too surreal!

I set my radio alarm clock for seven this morning, it was on it's loudest setting as the mirtazapine makes me wanna stay in bed- I've always found it a struggle to get up, anyway but this morning I slept right through TWO hours of my radio alarm clock balsting out music on full volume. It's not even next to my bed- I've put it across the room so I don't switch it off and go bsack to sleep (yes it was on- i checked after I got up!)!

Anyway, I've now got a really NASTY taste in my mouth constantly- a horrible chemically kinda taste. Does anyone know of a good way to get rid of it? It's HORRIBLE!

Never had an issue with taste aside from the initial taste of having the disintigrating tablet in my mouth. I do however get dry mouth and keep water next to my bed at all times.

The waking up thing gets better, I take 45 miligrams and I don't have any trouble waking up any more. It starts to wane within a month or two.

Maybe the horrible taste is from taking your ADD meds (dry mouth) in combination with the drying effect of mirtazapine? Dunno.

The weird dreams are just a sign that you're reaching your deepest stages of sleep (REM). As long as you're not having nightmares, dreams are interesting insights into your daily life. They tend to wane as well with time.
