well, after trying strattera for a few weeks (which was far too long..) i went to see a doctor for a second opinion. he said to stop taking it immediately and put me on dexedrine.

i'm on 1 15mg spansule per day, timed release.

i took my first one yesterday and i was able to do more things than i've done in the past month put together.

strattera might work for some, but it didn't work for me. better luck with everyone else!

I'd put Strattera in amoung the second teir drugs for ADD/ADHD. It's hit or miss for inattention (mostly miss from what I've read) and does OK for symptoms of hyperactivity and impulse control. I'd consider taking it WITH a stumulant. I view it as a drug marketed at kids parents who don't want to use a stim for "moral" reasons or who's children have bad side effects from stims like sleeplessness or weight loss, etc.
Always a good thing to have a choice of treatments, but NOT a magic pill people who see the TV commercials think it is.
In my humble opinion, for what it's worth.

I don't think any medication for ADD/ADHD should ever be considered a "magic pill". Each med has its pros & cons, and as we have all learned...results will vary by person, dosage and medication.
