Hi. I just started taking Strattera 25mg yesterday. I take it in the morning at 8am along with a cup of coffee and I feel fine, then by 11am I cannot keep my eyes open to save my life. I AM SO TIRED i take a FOUR HOUR nap then can't manage to get out of bed. Isn't this the opposite of what its supposed to do?!??!! I am ready to quit!!!! I need help with motivation and focus, not nap time!
Is this normal?!?! Will it go away? Please advise!!!

Yes, I would say this is pretty normal while starting Strattera. I've been on it for a little more than two weeks and the fatigue does start to go away. It's only getting better for me and as I use the medication the side effects are becoming less and less. I would say that it will pass with time. I found that even though I was tired when I first started the medication, these were the times during the day when I had the most focus.
ask your doctor if you can take it at night.. most have had this same problem since Strattera became available.

I have been taking 25 mg Strattera and 20 mg of Daytrana. I take the Strattera before I go to bed and put the Daytrana patch on in the morning.
I found that the stimulants really help me get through the day. I used to take the Strattera in the morning, but it was almost too much for me when I took both in the morning and I was crashing when I came home. One extra benefit of taking it in the evening is that I would be much more alert in the morning when it was time to get up for the day. I would literally jump out of bed, if my son needed something at 6:30am, whereas in the past I would tend to slowly get motivated to get out of bed.
Another thing I have noted is that my dreams are very detailed and lucid. I can notice textures of clothing or blades of grass in my dreams. I am not sure what that is all about, but my suspicion is that I am going into a deeper REM dreaming state. But I have not proven this out with a sleep study, but I might some day.
