Hi Everyone,

It doesn't seem to be listed as a side effect, but for the past few days I can't shake this feeling of sadness & anxiety. I've been on Strattera for about 4 weeks now.

Does anyone recognise this as an adverse effect of Strattera?

Could it only be temporary?

I'm really at wit's end, because Strat does quieten down my busy thoughts... but this is a heavy toll to pay! Please help.

I think you should get in to, your doctor. Or call.. let them know you have noticed it. It may have been there before, but now the meds are making you more aware of it. Sometimes, going on meds makes us aware of what's lacking in other areas of our life.

Anxiety and depression should be looked at and treated..right away. JMO

I agree, Strattera actually makes me less anxious. As for the depression, like I said in the other post, I only had it for the first day and I realized that it was the Strattera causing it. Now, I don't really get depressed because I believe that Strattera is at some times quite up lifting. I would call your doctor and tell him/her how you believe Strattera is affecting you.

Some antidepressants (ADs) and stimulants may cause mood or anxiety problems. [Strattera is related to the older ADs.]

Talk to your doctor.
