When I went in for my medication evaluation the doc also had me get a blood test, anyone know what the point of this is?

I think so, they can see what your med levels ae in your bloodstream.

It depends, what drug are you on? I'd doubt they would be looking at the levels of drug in your blood - unless you are part of a clinical study. Dr could be looking for signs of illegal, or undisclosed drug use - some Drs do this before giving stimulants, but most don't. The Dr could also be looking for liver dis-function, cholesterol, or anything abnormal. Ask the next time you see him.

The doc might also be screening for other conditions that might mimic (or worsen) ADD, like thyroid dysfunction, hypoglycemia, anemia, etc. Usually they don't monitor med levels in the blood unless you're taking a drug that might affect liver function, and that doesn't seem likely.

At the time I was only taking inhalers for my asthma. I'm drug free so I guess I don't have to worry about that. I think next time I will ask him to see what is up. The doctor has be on Straterra which so far I really hate.
