My 10 yo is now up to 35 mg of Strattera per day. We've moved up the dose very slowly over the past 6 weeks or so, from a starting dose of 10 mg. He is eating much less than he did before the drugs, and seemingly less at a higher dose than at a lower dose.
Does the appetite ever come back?
We're trying all kinds of things to get nutrition plus calories into him.
I really don't know. I just started taking the Strattera but I've been taking Vyvanse, and the effects of the meds have worn off and all it does now is really surpress my appetite, and its been a few months and not showing any signs of improving.
The strattera is suppose to make it where I won't crash from hunger as soon as I have been, but delaying it makes the crash worse =X
Have him drink some protein shakes, its much easier to drink and satisfy what little hunger you have rather then eat. Then when the hunger comes rushing back all at once and the sickness wears off, then you can eat a good meal... sometimes XP

I think the appetite does come back, but I'm guessing it will be half of what his prior intake used to be. In my experience, when I am taking stattera with dex my appetite is always half of what I used to eat.
I'm on 80mg (strattera only) and no appetite issue. However, I was eating much less when I was taking stimulants.
