I got fired today. After 28 years of experience in my field, two of them at the job I just lost.
It's almost funny. I picked up an application yesterday for a completely different kind of job. It's time for something new- I'm burned out with the old career, although it has been good to me until recently.
I just finished a cover letter. I'll fill out the application and update my resume tomorrow. My ex-boss promised me a good recommendation. We both agreed that my job was never a good fit. So on to better things, I hope....

I am sorry to hear this . . . . I do hope you find some thing that is a better fit . . . .

Don't get me wrong... My (ex) boss is a good guy. It was just a bad fit for me. You got it right, Tracy... It is a blessing. I have never, ever been so stressed out or unsure of myself in a job. Of course, if I get this other position, it will all be completely new. The cool thing is that it's a government (and union) job and the state not only pays for training and certification, but also pays an hourly wage while going through the process. I already have most of the qualifications, just no formal certification. I've been told that they are very desperate and short handed, so I think my chances are quite good. Just finished the cover letter... Now, update the resume... then the application... I'll be up all night at this rate.

If you can get a govt job, you've should have it made... I wish you the best of luck with that.

BTW, I'm going be up all night too...

Resume- Done. Is this hyperfocus or what? It's nearly 1:00 AM. I think I'll tackle the application and re-proofread the other stuff in the morning. Oh. It is morning...
