Ok so I'm in the middle of a pretty big situation and unsure what to do/say, and I'm sure a lot of people have are in a similar situation and any advice would be really appreicated. :)
Info:
I've been taking methlyphenidates (concerta and ritalin) for about a month to see if they work for me, and both concerta and ritalin make me too sedated, drowsy, and tired.
On tueday i went to the pdoc again and i told him that i was more focused, but also lethargic and the tiredness made it harder to do my homework, and get through college. He then gave me a script for concerta 72mgs, basically increased the dosage to see if it would be better.
But, even on 72mgs of methylphenidate, my days still drag along with little or no motivation for anything and very little energy.
The problem:
Ok so the problem is that I know what works for me is a different medication than the methylphenidates i've been taking. What seemed to worked much better was adderall. I have tried it (xr and IR) in the past because a friend gave me a few of his to see how they work. Adderall worked much better than ritalin or even a high dosage a of concerta. I loved the focus from it.
However, I'm afraid that if i tell my doc the reason why I know adderall works and that its pointless to keep trying more and more methylphenidate, I'm afraid that he'll think i'm feening for drugs or something because i tried adderall with out a script for it. :/
However, if i don't say anything, then i'll have to ride out another 30 days, and then tell the doc the horrible side effects and hope that he won't give me another med like it.
I kind of want to tell him know that i know adderall works for me, but i don't know how i should tell him in a way he won't think i'm a druggie, because i'm really not. lol.
So anyone know what to do in a case like this?
