scarygreengiant 05-07-08, 10:09 PM I'm 26 but I look 19 or 20 and I act like a 15 year old.
ozchris 05-07-08, 10:16 PM I'm 20.
Still feel like I'm 12 (for the most part anyway :P) I usually act younger than my age around friends but can pretend to be 'grown-up' if I need to.
Grafter 05-07-08, 10:27 PM 37.
And healthier and happier than I ever have been.

I have that problem and I'm 22. I sometimes forget and tell people I'm 23. I really don't know why... I'm not stupid, I swear. I think once you turn 21, you stop keeping track.

So time: Feel free to fly for once! ;)
Maurice 05-18-08, 05:47 PM I am 51 and I can not believe it! I am just very happy that most people do not even come close to guessing how old I really am. Maybe there are advantages to being immature after all.

Love 'em!!! Great Attitudes are here to stay...
I'm 51, also... I TRY to act it... but when I get home... I'm tired of acting my age.. and loosen up and act silly... My son would accuse me of acting like his "little sister".. so I told him, soooooo?? I've been acting like an adult all day (when I was working) and I'm tired of it!:D:D
That's right, I "DON'T WANT TO GROW UP" (don't have to - at least when I'm at home)... Having too much fun being me and not caring what others think!
adhd4life 06-04-08, 03:33 AM I'm just turned 19!!!

Been on meds full time since I was 20.
Maturity of a 40 year old, and the imagination of an 8 year old :D
and of course, the sex drive of a 23 year old hehehe

I'm still trying to find the best quote that fits me for my signature...

Great thread... so many different ages... but "fun" ages... whatever we want to be...
I remember someone saying... "Choose an age you like and stick with it" - anyone know who said that? Maybe I should choose that for my signature (as soon as I find out who said it - want to give credit where credit is due).

Yes but just handing it out too not me The idea is to make "em work for it.:p
My ex-husband knew the day and date of my birthday but could never remember the year - He asked me every year how old I was - so for some thing like five years I told him I was 29. He was 3.5 year my senior - and it dawned on him some thing was drastically wrong when he was 38 and I was still 29 - :D

Grafter 06-14-08, 11:35 AM I'm 37. I replied before saying I felt much younger.
I DO NOT feel like I should have a daughter going to High School.
But sure enough, there I am in the Band Hall with a bunch of other "old people" being asked to work in the concession stand while my kid is out marching on a field.....
Eh, I just don't feel that old, dammit.

What he said! 51 and still girlwatching. Fell like 21 inside. Sadly the body is not the same though. Wearing down with time and use. :p
Oh yah, and self-diagnosed at age 40 or so. Verified in a bevy of therapies and Rx meds, and lots and lots of sessions with head shrinkers, and some really really good ADHD encounter groups in the SF Bay Area (which I sorely miss).
ADD people are the best! (I will have to add that to my sig file).

was that question taken from the xtreme-AD(H)D entrance exam?
it's just that it's impossible to answer unless you know which year it is currently -
and they change every year.
why don't we just give the year we were born (as our age) ?
then we'd only need to remember one arbitrary number.
Anyway so mine'd be 07

why don't we just give the year we were born (as our age) ?
:D Because then we would always be the same age and I would get bored with that? Besides that, I have some female friends in their 50s who are fabulous and I'm hoping I can age like they did.
BTW, Thanks for the warning about the hole (whole?) in your underpants.

If you were born on the 14th February 2005 and had a name like Joshuer Hosier
and today was ???1st August 2008???
dunno'
- then you'd need to remember
14th February 2005 ->- 16 characters
1st August 2008 ->- 13 characters
Age :: ~ 3.5 years ->- 8 characters
Name :: Joshuer Hosier ->- 13 characters
== 50 characters (and we haven't even begun to consider the spaces)
Now - if you combine my idea with your innovative name
we could compress the answers to
how old are you and what is your name?
into
5
That represents a 98% economy (49/50)
(excluding gaps
which should not be excluded unless in the presence of a professional waste of space (petit moi pois))
- To recap then -
ADDers are easily bored and forget things -
- so why not take the drudgery out of life by just saying '5' every time anything say anything to you -
- and then looks at you as if they want some kinda' response.
It'd be great.
You can pronounce '5' in any accent you like -
dead pan works -
see -
5
5 <- Russian (comrade)
5 <- whilst shivering (brrrr !)
- wouldn't ever need to talk to anyone ever again that way
and
could dream the whole day long -
lovely 5 lovely
5
(we'd have to ban 6 though)
- it's a jaunty little number.

BTW, Thanks for the warning about the hole (whole?) in your underpants.5
Adders are so jolly rather polite;
nice actually.
I went on a journey a few days ago - went to two or three other sites right the way totally around the whole wide world and everything.
In one case I couldn't find the forum - it was private and roamed cyberspace with a floating URL -
it was the MoQ forum (Pirsig)
- I felt for a while (whilst stalking quality) - that I'd been transported into the original 'Cube' movie.
On the second, I was told that I'd filled out my 'biography incorrectly'
- huh???
learnt a valuable lesson though -
'the smilie maketh the man'
The mod bod with problems only ever used smilies which were not right in the head.
The third was strange also; a set of moderators similarly afflicted with the incapacity to be as polite as an Englishman with cucumber sandwich (as sole desire).
- So -
on the 'God delusion' forum
strange people kept chasing after me screaming that
'there is no supernatural God'
- I'd never heard the term 'supernatural God' before and so wasn't too sure whether they were shouting at me -
- after -
having this repeated nearly a zillion times over by almost everybody
- I figured that they meant that they believed in a God who was not supernatural but 'natural'
like my dog or a cabbage ??? maybe ???
So - there I was on this strange other site, thinking that it was about the 'God delusion'
- with a buncha' people seeming to tell me that I was delusional because 'God' wasn't supernatural but was in fact a stumpy chair.
The funny thing was, was that I'd quite like 'God' to have been a chair at that time
- it's kinda' tiring being chased around cyberspace being told that 'God' isn't mysterious but is (in fact) a blue and purple beanbag
- sometimes bada55 renegades need to have a little sit down to work out whether things're going in the right direction
... ... ... and finding 'God' at the same time
- well, that'd be a total bonus wouldn't it -?-
I mean -
- the despairing look down through hole in pants
- and in that moment of need -
- to find God's support staring straight up at you from 'neath.
*Personally*
- I'd never patch a pair of Holy underpants again -
- why short the net ?
- wouldn't want to miss out on a religious experience because of imagined prospect of unpleasant creatures roaming down below -
- always good to have a look
and delve -

xstarchildx 07-19-08, 01:28 PM And after all that , your age is......?????

:-)
xstarchildx 07-19-08, 01:29 PM No we never got chance to do it!! we will do though i have some great pic's.
Hey and what is my pokemon move ????
xstarchildx
outta' this world Xtreme Xpletives ???
- your FLA's turn into small hammers which penetrate through into the ears of your miserable opponents -
- and then using mind control -
you are able to make them strike up any beat (from the 80's) on your opponent's eardrum by
~simply~
humming the tune
(under your breath).
Ever the showperson (star that you are) - you often lift your arms during combat and play to the crowd by beat boxin'
air.
xstarchildx 07-19-08, 01:46 PM Cool sounds good to me :)
Tracy's FLA...
(in marked contrast)
hits the nostrils.
xstarchildx 07-19-08, 03:01 PM FLA??? come on SB_UK help me out here i'm not into pokemon if it's anything to do with that lol :)
5<- whilst shivering (brrrr !)
- wouldn't ever need to talk to anyone ever again that way
and
could dream the whole day long -
lovely 5 lovely
5
(we'd have to ban 6 though)
- it's a jaunty little number.

(2007)
I had a hilarious mental picture of everyone's face when I answered their questions with "5".
"How many cheeseburgers/cafe mochas/slices of lemon in your tea?"
And I say "5, please." If I asked for 5 of everything, what would that do to the economy?
But if I answered in Russian, would that make me seem sophisticated, or just frigid.
Five
PS To everyone else, sorry for getting off track from the OP.
I had a hilarious mental picture of everyone's face when I answered their questions with "5".
"How many cheeseburgers/cafe mochas/slices of lemon in your tea?"
And I say "5, please." If I asked for 5 of everything, what would that do to the economy?Don't forget #1-4 inclusive; they're obligated to carry you around.
In return you will need to feed them though.
Don't worry about being usurped -
it'd take a statistical impossibility -
- though it may bear thinking about why 'four' isn't content at current station ?
- all of these aspirations flyin' around -
'four's' been watching tv and doesn't like the glass ceiling -
'four's' sure that he could become President -
'four's' somehow not noticed that his $3.50 in the bank won't fund
campaign
Do you think the four-ists 'll attempt to seek liberation from the criminal arithmetic system which serves only to keep them in their place ?
Pigeon-holed like pigeons
Ranked like taxis
~sure~
higher than three
... ... but they don't talk about that, do they ?
'do they ever'
makes me sick !
it's 'five' they want -
and five they believe they'll get -
misguided fools - why can't they see what they
.........have ?
won't though will they ?
never do -
- Fixated like fixtures and fittings
you'll always be a step ahead - 'five'
heads up
Is there anything that'd help any feelings of doubt which you might still hold ?
- formal proof maybe -
a formal proof
................that I can always think of a larger number than the leaders of the insurrection
(just add one to theirs)
it works every single time
But if I answered in Russian, would that make me seem sophisticated, or just frigid.cool.
PS To everyone else, sorry for getting off track from the OP.It's OK.
You'll get the hang of it after a while; follow Tracy's lead - she knows how to adhere to pink/red duct tape.
Five
Seven
How old are you?See directly above.
xstarchildx 07-19-08, 06:07 PM Right SB_UK let's stick to the original thread can we please:p
O.K people roll up roll up..
How old are you ?
"I have to ask myself, was I here for the whole thing?"Lol i feel exactly the same...:) :D
me too.
I keep looking and not being able to work out how just days short of 40 years passed.
Was still at University up until recently -
may go back -
- being a student always felt more like a punishment - delaying the difficulty in locating a 'life' -
- because there're exams to do - and best not make any plans until they're over
- and when they do end, there's relief
- relief though until one realises that one has wished away 40 years of life for an assortment of meaningless certificates, no job and plenty of worries -
- so -
I don't think about age any more -
and it's liberating
---until---
the world which we live in -
- the current world within which we live
- that world which associates value with youth
(looks, whether or not to employ)
- when that world catches up and reminds us that we're ahead of our time
in that all too unpleasant manner which it has managed to hone over the years
the manner acquired through not trying.
The pretty little model and sharp suit have the 'floor' currently -
- sense will only take ahold when the pretty little things with no sense of responsibility start to become scared -
- they just won't know what to do.
It's only the irresponsible who cannot behave immaturely -
- too wound up in playing a role - they're not sure of the line between acceptable and unacceptable behaviour -
and so practice constipation for the whole time -
sense of humour is the giveaway -
by observing how twisted their jokes,
or forced their attempts to smile when listening to another
- their side of the line between wisdom and pretence
- divined.

nicki0854 11-08-08, 08:05 PM I'm 54! And I jump out of my skin every time I see myself in the mirror. Oh, yea, I forgot...... I got old.
Newfdog thinks girls freak out when an old guy looks at em, it's even freakier for an old lady to look at young guys. EEEWWW. What a gross out!!! At least old guys can and do get away with it.
I just figured out that I have ADD, bummer for me. Now that I might be able to finally carry on a decent conversation, possibly get involved with someone that I find attractive, I feel that it's too late. I always wanted to fall in love with someone like they do in the movies. I married my husband 30 yrs ago (we are happily separated) he was the only one who didn't leave.
There are other things to look forward to though. Like actually being able to learn a new job, and remember what I just read.
LostInTheStars 11-08-08, 11:11 PM I am 28
RiverIsSerenity 11-09-08, 12:17 AM I'm 32.
chowmix 11-09-08, 02:22 AM Newfdog thinks girls freak out when an old guy looks at em, At least old guys can and do get away with it.
Um, I'm 52 and don't get away with it. You get the 'oh damn, ooops, old dude, I'm not really looking at you I'll look behind you, above you or just keep moving their head in a circle, scratch my eye etc' look. I'm not hurt, I may not be in their "target demographic," and I was sullen over that for 2 minutes the first time this happened at 40, but I knew they are NOT in my target demographic either:D.
Now that I might be able to finally carry on a decent conversation, possibly get involved with someone that I find attractive, I feel that it's too late.
Don't give up on yourself. 54 is not too old to reinvent yourself. I switched careers DRASTICALLY 3 years ago and I'm considering getting a PHD.
And 54 is NOT too old to find someone attractive. I think reinvention is invigorating and makes one feel younger, act younger, and even look younger. Enthusiasm is attractive and even sexy.
Lines on faces are meaningless when they appear on the face of a happy, engrossed, engaged, confident, and driven person.
I work with students of all ages and find the younger ones trying, no matter how attractive they may be. Drama, self esteem, worry. I find older students who are reinventing their selves MUCH more attractive and engaging to be with because the are engrossed and enthusiastic in seeking change. (Since I'm in a happy 32 year marriage, I am not fishing anyway:).)
All in all, I do know what you mean in a way.....
Once I was old enough afford a sleek red imported sports car to impress women, I was too old to impress those shallow enough to be impressed.
I put my money to better use!
MaNaeSWolf 11-09-08, 05:15 AM Lucky for us men, girls are more into Personality than our curves, or so I am told.
im nearly a quarter of a century old. I feel old when I walk around university, all those young 18 year old girls seem miles too young for me.
40! Look 30; act 25.
I hated looking younger when I was in high school, but now it's definitely getting interesting.

Old is a state of mind... if you think you're old then you are... if you don't think you're old, then you're not old... it's mind over matter... if you don't mind, it doesn't matter.. LOL:D

Sadly, it often still is.
DotwithADD 06-20-09, 02:17 AM Sadly, it often still is.
That's right.. and that is sad! Some don't want to admit that... mostly when it is their family, or employees... And they don't want to try to understand. Like they're more perfect! (Not everyone thinks they're more perfect - they just become frustrated and don't want to try to help their family or employees).
I turned 38 years old today!
I turned 38 years old today!
