I'm taking wellbutrin 300mg and Abilify 2mg. I take the abilify at night and I am waking up feeling hungover and my head is "swimmy". Last night was only my fourth night, will this get better?

Also - how long before these meds to showing their positives effects?

That hungover feeling will gradually disappear. The meds you are taking take effect right away but it takes a while for the amount of medication in your blood to become stable and it takes a while for you to adjust to the meds. Unless your doctor says otherwise give it a few weeks before giving up on it.

A lot also depends on the "good effects" you are looking for.
If you are taking these meds for ADHD, you might have different expectations than if you were taking them for depression or OCD.

I'm on them for bipolar (mild) and depression. I do take Adderall also. Thanks for your reply. I'm definitely going to try to give it a few weeks.

I have been prescribed both Abilify and wellbutrin at different times in my life, and they made me feel great! Too great! Really, really manic. Sorry, that's not a very usefull insight. Anyhow, I find that it usually takes a few days to a week to fully adjust to a med. Talk to your doctor of course, but I would try to stick with it a little longer and see if the side effects diminish. If not, try switching to something else.
