I've been giving my kids Flinstones vits for a while now and have been hearing a lot about the otc vits having a lot of unnecessary ingredients. Well, I just read the label and it shows it has aspartame:( and who know what else. Anyone had any luck with more "healthy" vits for their kids that are easy for them to take (tastes good, etc.). I'm hearing good things about a brand called Nutraceuticals but they would need to take 4 chewables a day (way too many a day). Thanks for your input.

I was using the
little criters gummy bear vitamin sold at bj's. They are clean in terms of artificials and tasted good.
but I wanted something with a higher amount of vitamin b, magnesium, zinc, d, and iron (which alot of kids vitamins don't have).
So I searched around and found multi brite kids vitamins at GNC. I hope they are completely clean, but they don't comply being researched by feingold, so I have just been giving them and watching for reactions.
I called the company, and they said they had no artificials in them, but often you don't get the truth.
The daily percents were dramaticly higher than the other vitamins, and having a little bit of iron was a plus so I decided to try them anyway. I haven't noticed any problems with my son, who is sensitive to artificial colors and flavors, but that doesn't meen it's not there.
My daughter likes them, and my son does not. However we are managing to get him to eat them most of the time. I just need to follow him if he walks away from the table.
I know many like the neutraceudicals and true hope vitamins is another.
I'll be interested to see what you get for responses.

You might try looking in the health food store, writing down some brands, and researching them on the internet for their ingredients if some of them are unfamiliar to you. Don't ask the sales staff, they can sometimes be like used car salesmen in my experience. You can find ones with fruit- and/or vegetable-based sweeteners and flavorings.
Best yet, try to get them to swallow a capsule.
Vitamins also come in liquid form too, as another option for ya.

This is a great suggestion. I haven't yet reseached vitamins but according to my naturopatic the precription vitamins from my sons doctors are crappy. He claims they are only a script because of the flouride and vitamin content is not great. He suggested vitamins from the health food store and to supplement the flouride differently. I haven't bought him new vitamins yet but plan too.
