So, let's hear about your dreams!

I've had a few pleasant dreams but mostly nightmares.

I'd have nightmares about wild animals a lot. They'd come in through a door or window and I'd be alone with my brothers and sisters. I'd get them all into the bathroom (the only door that locked) and be trying to push them out the window as claws are raking through the door.

Or, one time, there were men outside my window with guns -- I woke up when I was shot. Another time, gorilla's were at the door and one reached through the front window and grabbed me and I heard my mom scream before they shot me.

In another one, we were at church and some people kept sending in friendly dogs with bombs strapped to their backs. The lines were cut and the tires were slashed on all the cars. One lady, stepped up to try to save my brother and she was mutilated.

Lovely dreams huh? I don't/can't watch horror movies either.

So, let's hear your dreams.

Wow, not sure I would want to go to sleep.. Here is a website I was at last week http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/ checking on some of my dreams. All of a sudden my wife says I am talking in my sleep. Having fights or the other day I was in court doing a closing arguement, weird thing is I am not an attorney.

There is a section on Nightmares that may give you some insight. http://www.dreammoods.com/dreaminformation/dreamtypes/nightmares.htm

All I can say is.. I'm glad I don't have your dreams.

It depends mostly on what I've watched ...what I dream about. But not always.

Sometimes if I go to bed with a stomachache... I have really weird dreams.

I won't go into detail on one of my more recent dreams.... lol

But I had one a couple of nights ago..that I was able to pay off everyone I owed..and move.

I've taken Prozac for years and one of the well known side effects is bizarre and detailed dreams.

I remember sitting at an office lunch one day and describing a dream I'd had the night before about being homecoming queen (parade, convertible, tiara, etc.) and a guy at the other end of the table looked and said "You must be on Prozac!"

Luckily, they're not scary -- just very weird.

I have scary dreams.... but none that actually make sense.

They are things that wouldnt seem scary in reality..... but they are horrible in the dream world.

My dreams are more connected with a feeling other than a thought....

I had a dream ....
....that effected he rest of my life

I dreamed my dad died and I was hysterical with grief.
crying and flipping out.

I went to my uncle roberts house, and robert was not there,
but my dads ghost was sitting at his kitchen table.

daddy's ghost said:

.......why the are you crying for?

I'll see you alot more now that I'm dead, ....I'm omni present now!

......I'll see you all the time!

I have known you since time began, and I will know you forever more,
for eternaty and beyond.

.....do not ever think you have ever lost me, I may change forms
but I'm always with you and I love you.

I quit crying and felt something ring very true about it inside me.
......I woke up with the same feeling.

It was almost a gift of insight for me because I'm a sensitive deep loving
lil' thang.

my dad is still here tho *smiles*
.....looking like homer simpson in his whitie tighties eating chips.

I also had a "using dream" that still irritates me.
...I dreamed i had a bunch of dope, and was running in my apt. to do some.

when suddenly, a woman jumped off her balcony and splattered on the pavement in the parking lot 5 ft away.

....I looked at her dead stare, and thought...COPS!
I gotta get outta here!

.....all the sudden, her eyes clicked on with life...
like it washed over them from blank to alive.

she said "stop suzie, I have something to tell you thats important"
.....I was like uh uh...and started running to the door..

I heard her peel her wet bloody body off the pavement and looked, she was trying to get up!

....she said WAIT! IT'S ABOUT THE MEANING OF LIFE SUZIE! IT's IMPORTANT!

I got inside and slammed the door and woke up.

........I thought....why did'nt you listen fool?

I mostly only remmember my nightmares. I like to think that I have lots of happy dreams that I just don't know remmember in my waking life. I think it makes sense that you would remmember the dreams that you woke more quickly from. I frequently wake myself up from nightmares.

Since I was a small child I would have dreams where I was just wondering alone at night around the area that I lived in. Sometimes I would come across people or things and they would then chase me around the streets and I would have to run as fast as I could to get away from them and use my knowledge of the area to find the best hiding spots...

I have some absolutely sick dreams. They are worse than any horror movie I have ever seen in my life. I have often wondered what it is about me that allows my mind to come up with this stuff....and then I have wondered if there are more to dreams than meets the eye...like other demensions/planes of existance and the like.

Some dream examples:

I find myself in a room that is painted white and there is nothign in it at all. I hear a small child crying and so I leave the room to find out what is going on. When I leave the room I find myself in a maze of long corridors that are all painted white and have no decorations at all in them. I walk through them until I find a little boy who is crying. He is crying because he is trapped in the maze. I reassure him that I will help him find the way out and we walk through the corridors together. After walking for what seems like ages I look back down at the boy and I notice something in his eyes and suddenly everything doesn't feel right. I tell him that I don't think that he is a child at all and that he is actually something else trying to trick me. HE denies it and then I persist and he gets really really angry and his eyes start growing bigger and bigger and he starts learing at me with his teeth. At this point I tried to wake myself out of the dream but I was still holding the thing by his hand. It was a wierd transition process back to my dream... I physically felt like water or air or something was blowing through my veins and I felt like the thing was trying to stop me from getting away from him.

I had another dream where I lived in a house and on our coffee table we would always have a decorative centrepiece which consisted of a decapitated head that had been collaged on. Every week I would take the head off the table and throw it down the hill in our back yard where there were piles and piles of heads. I'm not sure how but there would always be a new one on the coffee table the next week.

Ah, I could go on...

I've had a number of wierd sleep things aswell.

-I once dreamt that my ex was cheating on me and rolled over in my sleep and punched him!!!!
-I've clutched my hands together and dug my own nails into my skin on the other hand and made myself bleed.
-I've woken up with 17 scratched on my neck and chest.
-I've kicked my leg into the wall when I was trying to defend myself in a dream so hard that I took the skin off my toes.
-I've had sleep paralysis a few times.

Hmmm, while I don't really want to be an adult who still has to turn the light on at night to check nothing is in the room I do find all the dream stuff quite facinating.

re: #10

Could you have some symptoms of an REM sleep Disorder?

(We are supposed to be paralyzed in REM -- to prevent us from 'acting out' our dreams, but in some folks, this does not happen.)

Such folks are known to break shoulders while they tackle dressers ('playing football' in sleep), jump off balconies (escaping a 'tiger attack'), and can really hurt themselves and others.

Talk to ur doctor.

Thanks,

I'm keeping an eye on it. It doesn't happen often.

I've really had alot of bad experiences with Doctors. But I will keep mentioning my sleep things in mind next time I have to visit one.

I'm on natural remedies at the moment which seem to help me get better night sleeps in general.
