so i take 15mg adderall 3x (though i tend to do only 2x since i get up late and drink an energy drink at the endof the day if i need to focus on something and cant)

ive noticed that yes the meds help me focus and be motivated. but more so when i change doses if i get a euphoric feeling for a day (usually no longer) i am even significantly more motivated and focused. now i was wondering if anyone else has noticed that although it helps some the euphoric feeling helps a TON more. (dont worry i have no urge whatsoever to abuse)

so this euphoria feeling could be 1. a bodily response to the drug or 2. a mental stimulation to the drug (new things make me really upbeat and productive and happy in general after a few days i go back to being a bit cynical and less motivated)

not sure which

so i was thinking maybe if i asked my dr about switching between meds* monthly or maybe even weekly could reduce the amount i have to take (even though i'm not taking much long term small amounts will have some form of affect on the body for better or worse who knows) and could potentially work better.
*(adderall to dexedrine or adderall to ritalin, more likely the first though they are sorta the same drug so it may not have the same affect that the ritalin switch would have)

im proud of using the * for footnote type thing :)

if anyone has ever tried that or discussed it id love to know if anything happened with it. like i said just a theory. also i may end up raising my dosage again anyways because ive noticed after a week or two on a dosage i start drinking energy drinks an hour or so after i take my meds...(taurine keeps heart palpations away in them even though insanely more caffeine that coffee)

also after like 2 hours it seems to wear off :-/ good thing i have an appt next week

i guess the theory doesnt make any sense really since all those meds affect dopamine levels and the change in dopamine is what gives the euphoric feeling

hmm
maybe if you switched to something that targetted serotonin more it would work...

The first few doses of a stimulant and presumably larger dosage increases tend to have a very short term stimulation effect that is largely not repeatable.
It can be thought of as "seeing the ocean for the first time". The second time is
not so exciting. Thats were the expression "chasing the the high" comes from.

A rule of thumb on stimulants is you will feel as bad off them as you did as good on them. Which means using 2 pills a day for a few days then a 3 pill booster one day and then back to 2 pills again can results in feeling worst till your next 3 pill booster. Thats why typically people use a standard amount or less sometimes. Not a standard amount and more sometimes.

anyone know on average how long it would take for your body to balance out to taking 2x a day after taking 1 or 2 days 3x?
