I am having a terrible time remembering. For an example, I have looked up the drug Imdur every single day I have given it for over 5 years. I know it is "safe" practice to look up my medications before I give them, but come on.
I am tired of sounding like an "air-head". I did OK in nursing school, not a 4.0 student by any means. SOOOO much of what I learned and am learning seems to have escaped my brain. Why? What can I do about it.
The people I work with think it is all in my head and I just need some self confidence. I don't believe it. I love my job but sometimes I just feel "stupid" and I know I'm not. Any suggestions on how to remember things?

As a fellow RN, I totally share your struggles! It takes me so long to remember certain drugs. I'd have to give the drug a thousand times before I know what it does!
1) First off, how are you managing your ADHD? Are you on medication? If you are, make sure it's the right drug and dose for you. Remember that inability to keep information is part of the problem with ADHD. If you're having issues, it might mean a trip to the dr.
2) Using ADHD friendly techniques Play around with different charts, techniques, etc. till you find one that works for you. Use highlighters. Colour things that catch your eyes and draw you.
I'm also considering getting the vibrating alarm clock. I'll let you know if this thing works, but I'm hoping it will.

We ADDers need varied or repeated memory tools:
Draw pictures to remember (sight)
Record the info and play it back (sound)
Fidget and play with the thing to be remembered (touch)
Take a whiff of the med if it is discernible (smell)
Well .... get an Rx for this one! (taste)
... what about using a rolodex...to chart meds, etc... you could keep it on your desk...if you don't have time to look it up on the computer?
Or have one of those small notepads.. with info you need? Pocketsize
Or a PDA...with that information.. also pocketsize? That would be easier than running for the computer every time you needed med info.
Just a few more ideas

Thanks guys, I don't have a desk. I do keep a drug book, my clip board (full of info) and my notes within reach at all times. It took several years but I have developed my own report sheet that works for me. I just started Adderall with the month. I think I am on the right track but it just doesn't seem to be quite enough or last long enough. My mornings are better than when I was on Concerta. I would rather try to tough it out for a while before the doctor increases my meds. Maybe it will kick in more. Thanks for all the support.
It's possible you need a dose at lunch time. Daughter while on meds...did better at the split dosage, rather than a full dosage first thing in a.m.
