Has anyone experience a twitching of the finger?

I noticed as of yesterday my left hand's index finger tends to twitch. It isn't constant and it is worrying me as I have read that Michael J Fox's finger started to twitch and that was the onset of his Parkinson's Disease.

Has anyone experience this before? I guess I'm going to stop the medication for a few days to see if the twitching continues or goes away.

When I first started taking adderall, I would experience twitches in my legs and occasionally in my face around my eyes. This has reccured for me when I am dehydrated, don't get enough sleep, drink too much caffeine, or get overly stressed out. It was even worse when I would get freaked out about it bc I would become hypersensitive to it. I only notice it now when the meds wear off at night after I haven't taken anything for a few days (I often take holidays from the meds when I'm not teaching or in school). Do you notice it more at the peak of the medicine's effectiveness or as it leaves your system?

my doctor told me adderall may enhance any ticks, muscle twitches etc.. I first hand experienced clenching of the jaw muscles (it was funny as hell) for about a week then the side effect disappeared. no more in about 4 months of taking it... although adderall seems to not work for me anymore.

Gee, I hope it's not your trigger finger  I've had twitching of various muscles for years, and was never on stimulants. I was worried at first but looked into it and it's all pretty normal. It's called muscle fasciculations. Stimulants can certainly cause or increase the incidence of these fasciculations. For me, these usually occur in my quadracepts, forearms, top of my hand (near pinky), and very occasionally in my neck and eyelid. FWIW, I started Adderall this month and have noticed no increased incidence as of yet. I've never had them in my fingers, but I don't see why someone wouldn't. Different people get them in different places. I've noticed that voluntarily moving the muscle that is twitching usually alleviates the fasciculations.

YES, OMG! Exactly the same way. I can feel it more so when the Adderall leaves my body although this finger thing just started. I do get other twitches and what not throughout my body! Wow, I can relate that's pretty cool. I thought I was the only one.

Ah, you will soon find that you are never the only one, my friend. I used to be really anxious about the twitching... I thought it was a seizure coming on. I came across a post on this forum (quite some time ago... I'll try to find you the link if I can manage) that reassured me that the twitching was not necessarily a symptom of a larger disorder. Rather, it was a side effect of the drug wearing off.

Since I have been on Lexapro (10mg/day), the twitching has vanished altogether. If it's keeping you awake at night or if it is inducing panic attacks (as mine were), talk to your doctor about it. S/he can help you find the right dosage and the right anxiety meds should you need them.

Have you had any panic attacks since you've been on adderall?

I have had a few panic attacks. I also take Lexapro 2.5mg. So you've noticed with Lexapro the twitching went away? There was a time where I didn't use Adderall for about three weeks and was still on Lex and still had the twitching. Ahh, the main thing is I am not coming down with MS/ALS or PD. That would suck!
