You could have phased out and just driven on autopilot; where you stressed out at the time? Males, when stressed, like to zone out and clear their head.

yeah its normal....unfortuatly its a waste of gas too.....i have also found myself sitting in my car in front of my house just spaced out lost in thought.

lol, me too! When my medicine completely wears off I tend to space out: it can be in the car, at school, at the grocery store, standing looking into the fridge, anywhere!

People with ADHD like the movement of motor vehicle. I sometimes do my best thinking while driving.

I would say 99% of the time I was going no where as I lived like a few blocks from
major retailers and my job. I would drive several miles going home. :)

Years ago..when gas was cheaper... I drove round trip.. approximately 850 miles...left in a huff.. and was just going for a short ride to cool off. My short ride turned into all night and most of the morning, lol

By the time I got home...I was ready to sleep and my mad attitude was gone.

ONLY an hour?? I have loved to "cruise" since I was 14 years old. Cruising with the radio on or tapes or CDs or without any music. That and "Country Roading" has been one of my favorite hobbies. For years I did it as much as I could afford to. Right now I am carless and jonesing so badly I can hardly stand it. Fast and sporty cars were my favorites, but I would drive ANYTHING that had wheels on it. I could not even estimate how many hours I spent cruising but I can tell you in miles it is literally in the hundreds of thousands, if that gives you any idea how much i did it.

I love getting in my car at night and cruising the back roads... Sometimes when I get mad I'll just get in my car and drive...

I drive so much that I hate to use it to clear my head - I would rather go for a walk...

driving at night is nice, but with the current gas prices, that is not happening anymore. If I was making good money, I would like to do it a few times a week.. I live about 1 hour from beautiful Lake Tahoe, and the drive up highway 50 is very nice! I need a darn electric car!

Wow.. memories... I used to do this as a teenager... back before I worried to much about conservation of fossil fuels. Blasting down a canopy road at night all alone with the windows down, cigarette, Zep or Sabbath on the casette player. A bizarre form of meditation.
