I've been reading on herbal remedies, like 'Attend', and I'm wondering if going on these is a good idea. I hate the idea of being enslaved to chemical medication with potential permenant side effects. So I'm wondering, anyone actually tried those?

Thanks in advance. Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I've looked around for the proper section before posting here first.

Herbal remedies have low efficacy in the treatment of ADHD. Caffeine has much greater effectiveness to give an idea how bad most ADHD herbal/natural formulations are.

Ok. I obviously posted on the wrong section again. My apoligies.

One thing though. For some reason I appear to be immune to caffine. Either that, or I'm just not capable of noticing the effect.

They don't work to treat ADHD.

Twisty, some individuals have a good response to the formulas with amino acids in them, but that's a guessing game as everyone is different. What works well for one can be detrimental to another. There are some herbs that are generally well-known for helping specific symptoms. Rather than purchasing a cookie-cutter formula, you might try individual supplements to see how you do on each, or work with a naturopathic doctor who can direct you in nutrition supplements better than working on your own.

For example, Gingko Biloba is one that is said to help with "brain power" and is also found in some of the "energy' drinks that some find helpful for the short term. Step over to the Misc/Alt sections for forum discussions on various non-pharm approaches. You can also use the search function at the top bar to plug in specificn words you are looking for :-)

Omegas seem to be a favourite though, all around.
