I'm currently on dexedrine but I've read some articles about amphetamines causing irreversible damage.
(here is one:

)

So I was thinking a methylphenidate like concerta might be safer.

Is it?

I'm also curious about this, would love to know what the vets think.

I'd probably go with dexedrine because it has been around a lot longer and has been studied a lot.

Bah, I don't worry about these type of panic alerts. Both meds when properly used as prescribed are plenty safe.

Alcohol causes irreversible damage to the brain (kills brain cells) yet that doesn't stop 99% of the population from doing it.

Lipitor (most commonly used statin medication for lowering cholesterol) has a long list of side effects and requires periodic monitoring of liver function.

The list goes on and on. Basically any medication you take can potentially have some negative effect either short or long term. It's a situation that you have to decide whether the risk is worth the benefits.
