I have found that doing research on a company that iam applying for has greatly increased my chances of getting hired, for example:

I want to apply to the company

I read about there goals, company history, operations, assesments and all those other things. Pretty much the whole webiste if the company has one ill read it over 2 or 3 times...

This is how i prepare for an interview, cause i found knowing more about the said company has given me the confidence to survive in those interviews. And also it shows to my prospective employer i give a dam about the job

Does anyone else do the same thing before a job interview, what else has helped you be prepared for an interview?

Yes, of course.
Also, try your public and college libraries databases for same company: business databases and/or mags & journals, print and read later. Take all of the 'expected' interview questions (that can be found on the web and in job interview books) and apply them to the knowledge you gain so that you can give answers that are knowledgeable and pertinent to you and the business. Just ask all of the librarians for all of the best ways to find out more. Some know more than others.
Good luck !!!

1. Mock job interviewing is another good technique.

2. Some places (non profit employment places with 'job finding clubs') will use videotaping of practice interviewees, too.

3. We can have habits that we are not aware off ..... such as!

-(e.g. saying "like, uh, um, yeah" too much;
-talking too fast/loud/quiet,
-problems with eye contact (too much/little)
-or touching our face;
-flicking hair,
-holding head tilted to one side
-'fig leaf posture',
-constantly crossed arms across chest (too defensive; ill at ease movements that scream "i'm uptight"), etc.)

The new trend in employment counselling is to use "JOB COACHES".

I went to an LD employment centre here in Toronto that uses them...

maybe in a country like Canada they have "job coaches", but not here in the US. That would be NICE if we did though!
