hi..

i was diagnosed with add a few years back, i tried 3 meds, (ritalin, dexedrin, pomalin) none had any effect, i was then 265 pounds, today i'm 186, could it be that i did not take high enought dosages?

are there any other options i can try (i heard about stratera but i'ts not allowed in israel).

First, Welcome to the ADD Forums :) Shalom :D

Second, congrats on the weight loss!!!

Now, as to your question...weight might be considered an issue, given that some pharmaceutical companies base their dosage guidelines on weight. However, my experience has shown that weight has no bearing on dosage requirements. (i.e. a lightweight person might require a high dosage of a med, while a heavier person might require much less, and vice versa)

There are a couple of things to keep in mind...

A. Were you ever at the right dosage levels for the meds that you HAVE tried.
B. Not all ADD meds work for all ADDers (as you no doubt realize)
C. There are other meds to try. Check out the following links for more information:

Good luck, and I look forward to reading more posts from you!
