I have recently gotten a "VibraLite3" wristwatch, after a search
recommended by my coach. If you have problems staying on track and getting tough tasks done listen on. If not, sign off, you lucky dogs.

My coach suggested finding a timer that could be set to do repeat
rings at set intervals. The ring would interrupt my tendency to
distract and procrastinate into more interesting stuff when faced with boring, difficult, or disagreeable tasks. Hourly or even 30-minute rings on kitchen timers didn't work. If I got too far into
distractions like e-mails, websurfing, or other, more interesting
tasks I couldn't be dragged back into reality His idea of genius:
keep making intervals shorter until they caught me early in
distraction. Even 10 or 5 minutes if necessary. Kitchen timers
worked but are bulky and not portable. There are around-the neck timers, but they look stupid and usually don't have alarms. There are a lot of stopwatch wristwatches but not with count-down timers and good alarms. I have some high-frequency loss and either the alarm didn't reach me - or it could be irritating when on among other people.

The Vibralite is amazing. Besides two different times(e.g. when
traveling in another time zone) it has two alarms, a stopwatch and the critical countdown mode. The really cool thing is that it lets you choose between a silent but vigorous vibrator that only the person wearing the watch feels, sound, both, or nothing. So I can set the countdown timer to, say, 11 minutes, and every 11 minutes I get a vigorous "waker-upper". It's generally enough to make me reflect: "Am I on target, or am I heading off into unplanned things? "

The vibrator also works with the watch's 2 alarms - warning me about important events. The watch is water resistant to 30 m, and costs $49.50. I'm not mentioning the company address so people won't think this is a sales pitch. But get in touch (e-mail address removed by Admin. Please review Forum Guidelines (http://www.addforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=75) regarding posting personal e-mail addresses.) and I'll give it to you. Had to search quite a bit on the internet to find it.

Have you checked out watchminder?
It has the countdown thing... as well as other extra functions.
I have it and it's great... but also more functions means more complicated in a way, right?

I use the Timex Ironman with Datalink. Hooks up to my MS Outlook, plenty of alarms. It's great. I bought one after seeing less than stellar reviews of the watchminder and vibralite on amazon. It's not marketed specifically for ADDers, so it's cheaper, and really really worked for me.

But that'll break my hyperfocus

My watch is a distraction, but I love it just the same. When I saw it, I knew I just had to have it...it's so......ADD friendly. You can watch the cogs, sprockets, springs and gizmos at work behind a blue whatchamacallit.

Here's what it looks like: LINK (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B00152SSLU/sr=8-4/qid=1227490097/ref=dp_image_z_0?ie=UTF8&n=377110011&s=watches&qid=1227490097&sr=8-4)

Sorry, hope I'm not thread hijacking. ;)

Hey, cool watch, with the skeleton type design on it. I collect watches myself, and have one kind of like that, but it is clear on the back as well, and has a weight that you can watch swing as you move it, which keeps the watch wound.

It is fun to watch, and it has 3 subdials that you can watch move around too. I like watches for the shiney, not to tell time.

Thanks Mike, this one is the automatic with the clear back and weight also.

Take care.

I was actually looking for something I could put into my pocket, instead of wear on my wrist. The two products that look promising are Invisible Clock (www.invisibleclock.com) and Gymboss (www.gymboss.com). The Gymboss is a bit cheaper, so I'm going to start with that and see how it works for keeping things on track.

My goal in finding these was for it to be easy to keep track of and discreet. Hopefully one or the other will fit the bill. <url=http: www.gymboss.com=""></url=http:>
