Back on the adderall XR 20mg, I was contemplating if I should take my daily dose of adderall xr 20mg 1 hour before I eat breakfast(eggs) or should I eat breakfast, then take the adderall? I am trying to maximize the absorption of it and trying to keep it in my body as long as possible. I only drink water when I am on it because a lot of drinks contain citric acid. Should I avoid eating fruits because of how strong they interfere with the adderall and they eradicate it from my body?

What I am curious about is how the XR works. Half the capsule works for several hours (in avg, how much?) while the other half of the capsule is encoated in wax or gel w/e it is that makes it release several hours later.

So Suppose you ate a lot of acidic foods and high in vitamin c and quite acidic. You took your XR pill 2 hours before eating all this food. Would all the acidic food u just ate/drank, interfere with the 2nd part of the capsule that is wax encoated? Or does the food only interfere with the beginning half that releases in the capsule?

Thanks for reading.

Gastric acid pH lowers the absorbtion rate of amphetamine. Food, especially high fat foods, slow the rate and somewhat reduce the amount that eventually gets absorbed into the bloodstream. If you take your adderall with a big meal it will take much longer to kick in and when it finally does it won't work as well since it'll be mixed in with all the food contents as it passes from the stomach through the long journey through the small and large intestine.

Adderall XR releases the first dose (10mg in your case) immediately and the second dose approximately 4 hours later reaching maximum peak effect in 5-7 hours. That's how it is supposed to work in a perfect world but way too many variables are at play which is why some patients burn through it in about 5-6 hours yet others get 10-12 hours of coverage.

While I'm not giving advice but usually when a medication is affected by food intake the rule is to either take it 1 hour prior to eating or 2 hours later.

it helps mine along to eat something in the middle, and take magnesium and b complex.
....it kills off the stress headache too.
