It's getting to be spring again and the sap is running or will be shortly here.
When I was a kid about as old as my youngest (ten) an oldtimer made me a willow whistle. It's possible at this time of year because you can slip the bark off the wood when the sap has started to move.
Does anyone have any practical experience making this type of whistle? I know it's not likely but the on-line sources I've come up with leave me with some questions.
I'd really like to make one with my youngest in tow if she'll come..
Please don't beat me up too badly for such a whacked topic... hehh :D
Cheers! Ian.
