So I've been given 5mg as a "testing" phase by my doctor. I'm reporting to him on Monday about it. He told me to come back in about a month, but it'll be more like two weeks - I'll be out of the country for about two weeks following.

How do I communicate its not enough? The 5mg, though XR, just seems to peak after 3 hours, and then falls slowly. It's irritating and I get back into my usual swing.

But I must admit since taking the medication, I have pretty much just stopped messing around. I actually complete tasks, am a lot more mellow, and the weight of the world is no longer on my shoulders.

Any ideas? Recommendations? Dosage? I know you're not doctors, but you seem very intelligent in regards to this. I don't want this to be a hit or miss sort of ordeal.

Basically tell him what you've told us.. 5 mg has helped..but it tapers off too quickly. Ask.. if it's possible to have something...for a second dose mid-day.. or if you can try 10 mg...to see if it makes more of a difference.

Does physique play a factor in dosage? That is a smaller dosage doesn't work on big people and too big of a dosage can hurt tiny people...?

It could be possible. But I doubt it. Your doctor should know that better..but I've heard of 5 mg helping someone that's 200 lbs... so ...I think it's because our chemical make up is different.. more than weight related.

That's an interesting idea. I'm not a doctor, so I can't say for sure, but I would think that body size would play some sort of role in the rate of absorption of the drug into the blood stream. Once it reaches the brain, however, I would think that it wouldn't matter since brains are basically the same size in all adults. I'm just thinking aloud, I'm in the dark on this one.
