Forgot to ask this question of the neuro-shrink earlier this week. We were talking about changing medications because Adderall makes me depressed.

Ironically, no Adderall makes my wife depressed (something about my going all ADHD on her at social events ;))...

Seriously though, I never got up to a full dose of Adderall XR because of the dysthymia. My wife did confirm, however, that I was better at 15mg/d and even a little better at 25mg a day, but only on the social impulsiveness side of the ledger. I never saw any of this magical focus of which people speak at those dosages. BTW, I tried Concerta last summer and it made me depressed at 5mg!!!

In the meantime, I'm just hanging with the 300mg/d of Buproprion SR that I had been taking with the Adderall XL. It has a small, positive effect on social impulsiveness too BTW. So while I'm waiting for dude to go research and confirm my suggestion for the next trial (Modafinil and Buproprion XL), I am curious about something...

Neuro-Shrink (aka Dude) won't likely get back to me for a week, and in the meantime I have to fly to NYC for two days of meetings. Then I have to go to Europe for two weeks, which will include lots of professional social events. By the time Dude gets back to me I'll likely be travelling and won't be able to see the GP for the new trial to commence for three weeks.

So does anybody know whether one can just up and take 30mg of Adderall XR for the day or two I need to behave; stop and then start again a few days later as necessary? I had absolutely no problem starting or stopping with the stuff thus far, but am I supposed to be doing this?

Or should I go get some of the regular (non-extended) stuff from the GP before I go and use it as necessary instead?

Thx

Hey,
I'd call the doctor's office and ask them for their view. Tell them about the schedule/travel challenge.

I'd do that before adjusting things and going on and off myself ....But that's just me.
