I wanted to ask a question to see if anyone has experienced this or can help.

I was diagnosed as a child with ADD. When I turned 13, I stopped "hopping around the class" and "blurting out", so my parents discontinued Ritalin. I had never been able to concentrate in college, hopped from job to job due to lack of interest, etc., but never put 2+2 together. I also had a very hard time falling asleep due to all the "noise and static" in my head.

When I was 25, I started becoming very agitated, so my doctor put me on Paxil, which I had been taking for over 13 years.

By chance, I took an online ADHD diagnosis quiz, and immediately showed the results to my doctor. He had me see a specialist, who started me on Strattera. I started with 25mg, then 40mg then 40mg in the am and 25mg in the pm seemed to do the trick.

I became amazingly focussed on my work, and am able to read things and recall them like I never had. However, the Strattera was keeping me up at night even more, so the doctor prescribed Ambien, then Rozerem, neither of these worked. He prescribed Seroquel 50mg, and WOW - I fall asleep about 45 minutes after taking it, sleep very soundly, no tossing and turning, and wake up very refreshed.

My problem is that I don't know if it's the Strattera, or the fact that I am amazingly focussed now, but the slightest interruption when I'm watching TV, reading, or concentrating gets me very agitated (especially repetitive background noise or kids). The Paxil used to take care of this, but it stopped working. The doctor put me on Lexapro, and that's not working either. I DO NOT want to give up the Strattera - I have an amazing new focus, but I can't go on being agitated whenever I'm concentrating on something.

Has anyone else experienced this with Strattera? Any suggestions? Thanks!

i take paxil too ..which was initially for my anxiety (though now i have a little depression too)
I dont take strattera but that just sounds like the side effects i had with my adderall..all i wanted to do was focus and get work done so it was annoying to have anything taking me away from that euphoria of concentration and focus...ADD is a disorder of give and take of different side effects, in my experiences with the different meds and reading other peoples posts there is no perfect mixture
