View Full Version : It is stone quiet in my office, other than the clicking of keyboards

While others on this board are complaining about busy offices and distractions, I have the opposite problem. To much silence. I work in a sea of cubicles in an office where most people have a job title that says Systems Analyst, Management Analyst, or Research Associate. Everyone just spends all their time on their computer and see no reason to talk to anyone. It is just to quiet!

I wish there was some conversation in this office, outside of message boards. Can you relate?

I can relate! being at home without a job...quiet! :) although I can always put on my music(which I usually do).

Ah yes... the life of a cube monkey. I get bored really easily at work. Thank goodness I have 2 other cubemates (yes, we have this strange quad-cube setup everywhere in the company.) Still boring though. Sometimes I go for a (long) walk with my music player or my PSP.

I totally need to get fired soon.

OH WAIT. I'M QUITTING THIS JOB ON FRIDAY :D

I know the feeling...and it is horrible. You have to create your own noise. Something that helps me concentrate is having some "white noise" in the background. I use smooth jazz, as it doesn't distract me from what I'm doing. Try something like that (or one of those machines that makes nature noises, or a fountain). It may work wonders.

Oh, yeah. I hate silence. I really need an IPOD or something like that. My last job was stone cold quiet unless somebody was yelling or screaming. It was nuts. When I closed my door, they wondered what was up with me.
