I have been taking adderall for almost a year now. They start me on 10mg XR/day and w/in 2 months I had increased to over 60mg/day. About 6 weeks ago I stopped taking it regularly since I wasn't getting effects unless I took 30mg instant at once. I would take it about 1-3x/week. I didnt take it at all last week so that my tolerance would be low for finals but then I took 30mg instant the other day and felt nothing....I kept taking instants in 10mg dosage until I was on 60mg and still only felt the way i normally would on 10mg. I hoped I was just having a bad day but this happened again yesterday and then today I took a whole 50mg at once and literally dont feel a single thing...the only thing it effects is my ability to fall asleep. I dont know why a 120lb female like myself would have such tolerance issues but I've accepted that I need to switch. Will switching to a different medication lower my tolerance? Or will I still have a high tolerance to all stimulant medications due to cross tolerance? What medications have people had best success switching to from adderall when his/her tolerance got to high? Please advise me. I see my psychiatrist on friday but would like to hear from other people like myself first. Thanks a ton!
