Started 5 mg daily IR, 6 month later, 60 mg daily IR. Still works relatively well. Side effects have decreased dramatically, less depression, still crashing after 2 weeks on, and need to take about 4 days off because i become med non-compliant. Really tired during the 4 days but it slowly gets better until im ready to take it again. MED

Jumped in with 15mg 2x per day and holding steady.

And yes, it is love. Deep, wonderful, head-over-heels, knock-yer-socks-off love.

whats the longest any of u went on without a break during ur meds?

This is my first time taking Adderall. I take 20mg a day. I found out the hard way that any more than that is bad for me. I have only been two days without the meds over the past three weeks.

Started dating Ritalin IR 10mg x3 for one and a half months. She was too boring for me so I ended the relationship and started dating Adderall IR 10mg x3 a few weeks ago. She's been great so far! I usually take a break from her on Saturdays - don't want things to get dull too quickly now!

I'm nervous... I don't want the love affair to end...

I've been taking Adderall on and off for just over 4 years total. Though, I've been 100% ON for the past year and a half or so.

I started out with Adderall XR 20mg, once daily. Right now I'm prescribed IR 10mg x 3 (30mg total) per day.

Okay I just read through the thread a little more carefully, so let me just follow suit a little bit here.....

I also dearly love Adderall, but we broke up sometime around last summer and I had a lovely affair with her cousin Dex. But around February of this year, Addy and I got back together. We've been together ever since and everyday we spend together is just as wonderful as the day we met.:o

I fell in love about 2 years ago. Wild and crazy love. I got a little reckless and played the field a bit. I messed around with a skanky one trying to cover up what she really was (Concerta but we all know behind the pretty name is bad dirty Ritalin).
I went back to my beloved Adderall but have since played the field again. This new chick called Vyvanse is odd. Kinda boring but ever so consistent. Like dating an honor roll chick that is set in her ways and routine. Same old thing day in and day out.

There is nothing like your first love though. I was on 55mg a day (30mg XR in the am then 25mg XR in pm). I miss her. Just the right mix to keep me on my toes.

You're right... Luckily they never found out about each other. I even had them both on the same day before... but this was back when I was trying to find out which one I liked better. They were similar, but different. Those who have had this affair probably know what I'm talking about.

In the end though, I couldn't deny my true love. ;)

I am not in love with my medications and there was never a honey moon thing - I take medications so I can back ground un-necessary stimuli and concentrate on the task at hand by simply willing myself to. I was glad when the dry mouth thing ended.

I began on Ritalin titrated up to 100mg daily which is when the side effects became to much for me to endure - I remained on this from 1993 until I began Adderall in 1997 - I began on 60 mg - 20mg three times daily - but rebound symptoms prevented me from falling asleep so I went up to 80mg - 20mg QID {four time a day}

When insurance companies quit paying for my medication and I began paying cash I could take the damn medication according to what worked for me with no formulary dictating what I could and could not take and how often . . . I went to 20mg Adderall IR every 4.5 hour I am awake - apx 80 mg daily some times 60mg other times 100 depending on how long my day is - it has been this way sense 2000 - I have not "felt" my medication in years and I am thankful for this.

I have not developed a tolerance for my medications in a decade I don’t expect to every do so.

I am not looking for a feeling nor do I expect the medications to motivate me or "make me" do any thing other than consciously control my direction of focus and length of attention span. I can still name that emotion before reacting to it I can hold a image in my head as long as I want to I can manipulate it any way I decide I need and I can make interfering images go away - I can make songs in my head go away too and replay what ever conversation, music sounds I need without getting a head ache trying to sort through past and present sounds - my brain keep them straight automatically - I have a liner memory that I normally do not have access to abet it is still limited but it does exist, and I remember to remember things like taking a mental note of where I parked my car in that air port parking lot - without mixing up this parking lot "address" with one of the ones I remember previously

Who in the hell needs a feeling when I can have access to the brain control tower and can mange my multiple thoughts in a logical manner with little more than a whim -prioritizing happens by me just realizing the need and organization occurs when ever I want it to by merely wanting to – Time I can tell how much time has gone by accurately . . .. Feelings are fleeting function is where it is at {IMHO}

I take my med and feel great, sometimes I feel guilty that it is me getting high off it, but its not, its just me having a normal scull, so many fuzzy worthless years, oh well!!! MED

I starting taking 40 mgs of IR 4 years ago. Within a couple of months I was upped to 50 mgs. Stayed on that for 3 years. Came off Adderall last November. A month ago I was put back on 50 mgs (20 in morning, 20 at noon, 10 in afternoon). No tolerance problems for me in the time I took it.

I started at 45mgrms adderrall xr
...in 3 months I was up to 60

in another 6 months I was prescribed 90 mlgrms

...I've been on 90 for 2 years.

I can't afford xr now so it's generic.

,,sometimes I go right back to sleep on 3 so, I have taken up to nine (270 mlgrams)

that's when I got someone to start holding my meds.

.......because the "love affair" is called addiction.

I titrated from 15mg to 30mg per day in the first 2-3 months and have been there ever since.

at around the 4th month I switched to 20mg of dexedrine which is pretty much 30mg of adderall without the Levo-amphetamine. Dexedrine is very subtle can not feel it working, but I do notice my focus drop when it wears off.

Been steady for a bit over a year now with no signs of tolerance.

me and ADDY (adderall xr 20mg ) started off slow. we were seeing each other every day.

nothing major happened.

then all of a sudden we had a spark and we became maddly in love. it was great. she help me focus and gave me energy and inspiration to do things
i never usally did.

then she turn on me. she started making me feel bad. she start putting pressure on me that i could not handle and the mood swings. OMG. she would make me happy, then angry, then sad, and then angry again in a matter of minutes. i could not take it any more so we had to slow down.

i stop seeing her everyday.

its an on and off again thing. we are trying to work things out. not really interested in seeing anyone else but everyone says it might be for the best. i dont thing so.
