just giving an update and trying to find out everyone's thoughts. i have been on strattera for about 2 1/2 weeks now. started with 25mg/day for a week, then went to 50mg/day for a week, and i just started taking 80mg/day about 3 days ago. i still don't really feel any different. i've had a very dry mouth (used to it because i am also on zoloft) and have been maybe a bit constipated. that's about it. i have been taking it at night recently, though for no real reason.
i know i should keep taking it and might not see much in the way of benefits for another couple of weeks or until i increase the dose again. but i know some people feel the effects pretty quickly.
anyway, thanks for reading.
are you drinking enough water? Some meds have a tendency to cause dry mouth.. and dehydrate us.

i'm drinking a lot more than i used to, primarily because of the dry mouth. doesn't bother me that much. i am more bothered by the lack of a response from the meds as far as helping my ADD.
are you sleeping more? Having trouble staying awake, during the day?
Sometimes...Strattera takes about a month before any results are noticible. It depends on the individual.

i wasn't really having any sleep problems that i was aware of, but i also have a 2 year-old who sleeps in the bed with my wife and i most nights and who i am sure has restless leg syndrome ;-) so the cause of any sleep issues is hard to pin down. i will say i am super tired today for some reason despite getting 9 hours last night. but the night before i didn't sleep much at all because i was nervous about a job interview.
during the day i usually drink caffiene constantly (coffee and diet soda) to keep me awake and motivated.
If you're using caffeine to stay awake during the day.... the med is doing this. Ask the doctor if it's ok to take at night..or at least what he or she thinks about it. That way.... by the time you rise in the morning.. the sleepiness won't be so noticable.
It could be worth a try.
Have you thought about maybe putting a small bed in the corner of your room...and putting child back in..each time the little one crawls in? Otherwise, you may never break the child of the routine/habit, of sleeping with Mom and Dad.
I would mention the kicking at child's next doctors appointment, too.. sometimes.. it could be something as minor/major as a vitamin deficiency... or dehydration.
