My duties are increasing to include participating in more meetings. I have avoided meetings up until this point because I lose focus, bore easily, and yell at myself in my mind to stay present. At times, I actually feel like I am falling asleep.

I understand agenda's and staying on the agenda and getting meetings over as soon as possible. It seems the world around me doesn't understand the same logic.

Help! How do you stay focued in meetings?

Sadly i actually doodle.. it keeps me focused.

missadhd, you took the words right out of my mouth(fingers)!! thats what i do as well.. i doodle! people think its rude and assume that im not listening when i doodle, but i tell them its the opposite! when i doodle, its like i occupy the add side of my brain so it stays busy, so that i can focus and listen better. its so bizarre. ive doodled some amazing/interesting art while listening. but mainly i draw swirls. swirly trees and swirly faces. and neverending boxes

That's me too. I used to actually fall asleep in staff meetings. Then along came Focalin and Ritalin into my life. No more. Doc says I may have been narcoleptic, as the same drug work for it, too.

Personally, I find most meetings, especially staff meetings to be a big fat waste of time, unless food is involved. Then I will put up with almost any dribble from the organizer.
