seems a lot of people see positive things pretty early on, and that the following weeks/months help in getting the side-effects to subside and to learn how much is just enough and how much is too much.

but i'm at 80mg per day and don't feel anything yet. i'm supposed to go to 100mg per day now but don't have a lot of hope. it's been a month now and i don't really feel any different. i have to wonder if another 20mg per day will make a difference.

i imagine there are some that didn't feel anything at all on strattera and maybe i'll be one of them. i'll certainly give it a chance, but i have my reservations at this point.

thanks.

I've been on Strattera now for 5 weeks. With the following doses:

Week 1 - 25mg
2 - 40mg
3 - 60mg
4 - 60mg
5 - 60mg

My dr. gave me the impression that he thought this was the correct max dose for me. I'm 5'11'' and 180 lbs.

I met with my dr yesterday to discuss my doubts about the efficacy of the med. I haven't notice any real improvement regarding my ADHD symptoms. The plan is to move on to stimulants if this doesn't work out. He was willing to let me stop the Strattera immediately and move on to the stims, but recommended giving it another 3 weeks to see if I would notice any change.

I think this is a good plan for me, but honestly, I'm not expecting any improvements. It's just that I've been on it for 5 weeks now and I'd like to wait another 3 to really rule Strattera out as an option. I don't have any side effects other than mild sweating for 1-2 hours after I take it.

This was the first med I tried and I have a mild heart defect and wanted to avoid the stims if possible.

From what I've read, for those that experience improvement on Strattera, it can happen at any time between Weeks 1 and 8.

i'm suprised he's not willing to increase the dose if you're not having results and no major side effects. i know strattera is the only med of this type that seems to be weight dependent. but there still seems to be some variation among people who take it and an unpredictable nature, i.e. heavier people needing less and vice versa sometimes.
