View Full Version : How to recharge the caffeine buzz!?

I have inattentive ADHD and I get more "normie" effects from stimulants (I do NOT get the ADHD stimulant paradox effect), except even stronger. I used to get a daily buzz--well, usually--from caffeine for a few years straight!

But years of daily use and addiction have taken away the buzz and the good effects. For some reason I can't tolerate caffeine pills anymore--my body goes berserk, and my stomach hurts. The enteric coated don't work either.

Energy drinks just cost too much to maintain a habit. Coffee with sugar seems to work the best--but again, the tolerance has taken the "charge" right out of it.

Those of you who depend on the caffeine buzz, what methods do you use to "recharge" it?

They say staying off it for a while "resets" tolerance. But it does not reset the buzz as much as I would like. What ever can I do or try?

BTW I have tried switching to tea and yerba mate as coffee alternatives and have found that tea is more jittery, and that yerba mate causes mood distortions (it's an MAOI.... do not take with SSRIs!)

I think you have to take a really long break from caffeine which if you've become dependent on, will probably be really hard to do. But, and this is going to sound really hypocritical considering my issues, but taking in high doses of caffeine is so bad for you! You really can't tolerate stimulant ADD meds, even really small doses? Maybe a non stimulant is the way to go. Also, and I can see you rolling your eyes as you read this, but cardio exercise can have the same focusing power as stimulant meds and it is great for regualting mood, etc.

I was trying the small doses of the ADHD meds while on Paxil 30mg, so unless the Paxil was causing an interaction and making the stimulant effects much stronger, I'm pretty sure I must just be very sensitive to stimulants.

Anxiety could also produce insanely strong stimulant effects too.. right?
