my wife is worried i didn't give it enough time, but i've been taking it for about 9 weeks with virtually no noticeable benefits. and i've been on the max does (100mg) for about 3-3/12 weeks. i figure that's plenty of time based upon what i've been told to know it's not working. i stopped a few days ago and though i was worried about withdrawals i actually haven't felt this good in ages. i feel like i am thinking clearer and i am happier. it's odd that it kind of coincided with stopping the strattera. i even feel better than i have in a couple years probably. kind of makes me wonder if stopping the strattera somehow boosted certain neurotransmitters or something. or maybe it's a coincidence.

Hi,
The benefits of Strat kind of sneak up on you. It took 4 weeks for me to start getting some benefit. There was no "ah ha" moment. Just a subtle improvement in memory, mood, and patience. Wife noticed it more than I did. I dicontinued since I found that going to the bathroom and visiting the wife to be rather important events in my life.
When I discontinued, I did feel the improvements fade away.

I would always go with the medical advice of your doctor. I started to notice the effects within the first week. I would think that you have it enough time. I'm glad that you actually feel better instead of worse after discontinuing the medication. It may have to do with the fact that your body is relieved from the side effects of the medication.

def notice improvement in memory, mine is shocking bad...so that helps with alot of things, remembering what has to done with all aspects, remembering names/numbers! I'm very creative n find its allowed more patience where as, normally i would spit the dummy.
Alot happier with things in general and yea, its removes any unneccessary anxiety feelings :)
I did notice yesterday being bak at college and meeting alot of new people and having a laugh, i was ontop of the world....but i could sit n listen alot better n pay more attention than normal!
I'm into week 6, on 80mg- **1x40mg Morning **1x40mg 3pm
You guys think with barely any side-effects, dose should be increased to the target of 120mg, im confused....or if 80mg is good, stick with that?

Smitty, you said: my wife is worried i didn't give it enough time, but i've been taking it for about 9 weeks with virtually no noticeable benefits. and i've been on the max does (100mg) for about 3-3/12 weeks"
I believe you can go higher than 100 mg. Our doc has found that you can go higher than what the manufacturer says and that some people need to.
