I have been on ritalin and concerta 54mg and wanted to know if anyone experiences a horrible come down...i can barely stand it being so out of it when it wears off...does anyone have suggestions or think i should switch to something else...I am needing some advice....

are you depressed or is it physically exhausting, if it's physical it's what they call a "speed hangover" you may be taking too much. if it's depression you can ask your doctor for a mood stabilizer or anti-depressant. but both are pretty normal specially ritalin, it's notorious for it's horrible come down. my money is on ritalin that is causing this. dexedrine probably has the easiest come down you can get instant relief tablets so you can still take "extended release + booster" but your doctor may not like mixing methylphenidate and dextroamphetamine together.

Yeah I was on adderall then my doctor said i cant have more than 30mg...all i took today was my 54mg concerta and then 5mg at 3pm...I feel all gross and sweaty that I dont like...I am on geodon for mood and cymbalta for depression...I was on lithium for 2 weeks which messed me up completely now I have gastritis...so I dont know what else to do....I need a different med...

you can ask your doctor if he can drop both concerta and ritalin for dexedrine, you can take that three times a day it will give you a little more control when I say that I mean control over dosing it does have less side effects than adderall but dexedrine is pretty potent and your doctor may not be sold on the idea with your mental status you could try focalin (dexmethylphenidate) incase your doctor is "pro methylphenidate" with his patients.

Potent? As in works better or toxic? Just kind of confused...I put a call in to him today but I keep changing things on him because I cant find the right thing to work...do you think they suspect abuse or something because that is not what I am trying to accomplish...

adderall is a mix of two amphetamines & two amphetamine salts. So, Adderall is 1/4 Dexedrine (D-amphetamine) & 1/4 Benzedrine (d,l racemic amphetamine).

Dexedrine is far superior to Benzedrine since it causes 5 times as much CNS brain stimulation without as much peripheral stimulation as d,l amphetamine. This is because it contains only the good isomer, the d-isomer of amphetamine.

you need to sit down and speak to your doctor. im confident you will find a new cocktail.

Yeah I just dont want him to think I want all this stuff..when in essence it works for an hour then I am a complete *****...lol...so to speak...

wanting something isn't bad thing, be on your best behavior and give it a chance. getting the right add medication can be a long process.

My concerta come down can be bad, but it varys, sometimes I just find it hard to think at all or talk, and I'd want to cry, or get irritable. I'm praying to god that my psychatrist considers dexedrine. he probably won't, but hell blah blah blah

Thanks guys...I talked to him today and he is trying adderrall again 10mg 3 times per day....hopefully that helps but i have the concerta if that doesnt work....
