I'm at day 13. Last nightI had awfull dreams and today I'm very impatient with my wife which has not occured for years when my bipolar was acting up and did not know what I had.So I'm getting off..My psydoc said earlier that if it did not work she'd put me on lamictal..This too scares me.

Epival 750 mgs.. effexor 75 mgs.

Anyone on lamictal?

I have never tried lamictal. What type of medication is it?

Maybe you increased your dose too fast.

I would talk to the doctor about adjusting any meds in any fashion, only he knows for sure what is and isn't healthy for you.

My sister has bipolar type 2 and I think she took lamictal all the time, I don't remember but it should help you more if the doctor thinks it will.

I know when she stopped taking them she'd fly off the wall though, so keep in close contact with the doctor.

I'd say so too.

The bull**** they're prescribing these days is ridiculous. I'd probably be better off hitting myself over the head with a hammer than taking Strattera. It would probably have more of an effect.

Strattera made me suicidal. Within 48 hours of stopping it, I felt better. BTW, I am bipolar and it didn't help at all with my moods.

Lamictal is a great drug. I take 200 mg. every day and I really can't say anything bad about it, besides making me a little more clumsy and forgetful. However, Wellbutrin seems to be evening that out. Lamictal has a pretty good reputation for being a mood stabilizer, but it didn't help my ADD at all -- probably made it worse.

PS -- the generic for Lamictal came out this July, so it's also a cheaper option than it used to be. I haven't noticed any difference between the brand and the generic. Both work well.

I take epival for the mood and effexor 75 mg..My psydoc said that if strattera did not work, she'd take all of the above and replace them with lamictal which has an excellent antidepressant effect. So why do you take wellbutrin?

Vinton are you still on the stuff? I'm on about day 12 and I noticed if I take it consistently every 24 hours the same dosage I don't get drowsy but it does nothing for my concentration. In fact I think it even makes it worse because I can't get any studying done any more. The main side effect that hasn't gone away is lack of motivation and ambition and slight depression. I don't feel like doing anymore. Some days I hardly eat because I couldn't be bothered making food. I'm too lazy to go to the shops these days.

I've become even more anti social than I used to be. Being slightly autistic I never was very social but now just having to answer questions makes me depressed. I do my best to stay the hell away from anyone that will try to get a reciprocal conversation going because I don't feel like talking.

Does Ritalin have similar effects? I don't know why the psychiatrist is putting me through weeks of torture to test this bull**** out when he could just prescribe Ritalin which works instantly and isn't a 10th the price of Strattera and has only a fraction of the side effects.

Are you on any other meds instead? I've been on the stuff about 15 days and its starting to help in subtle ways but still not worth the 15 days of side effects I've had so far.

I'm on 75 mgs of effexor and 750 mg of epival. (BPII -ADHD).My Psydoc thinks of removing everthing and put me on lamictal as the epival is hard on the liver and has much more side effects. Also has an AD effect
