Do you have a law like we have in the US, that is called HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa/))? Because we usually do go private... it's a law here in the US.

nah.. in the UK we have the NHS.. national health service... we pay them out of our wages, each wage some money gets deducted

but... unfortunatly.. it takes forever and could be 20 years before you get diagnosed with adhd..

thats when you have to pay private for it.....

Man, that's just wrong... I'm so sorry, Alanna! Do you mean pay private as in out of your own pocket?

Yup - our health service as good as refuses to diagnose so our statutary contribution from our wages is a joke (it's quite a lot too) especially since AD/HD is a recognised illness and MUST be treated when diagnosed.

Anywho - today is not a day to rain on Alanna's parade.

thanks everyone :D

and yeah.. you do have to pay for private treatment out of your own pocket.. its expensive...

but worth it in this case.. when u pay for private you really do get a good service.. because you have payed good money for it..

the nhs aint alllll bad.. but they could improve a lot :D
