sixes

I was reading a book for a school assignment in english lit. I is a book of poems by black authors from the 1920's. This one I am posting really hit home with me and seems so irionic considering our nation's current circumstances.
Dust by Waring Cuney.
Dust,
Through which proud blood once flowed.
Dust,
Where a civilazation flourished.
Dust,
The valley of the nile.
Dust,
You proud ones, proud of the skill with which you paly this game called war;
Don not forget it is a old game.
Men used to play it on the banks of the Tigris and Euphrates. When the world was once a wilderness.
There is a circle around China, where a wall once stood.
Carthage is a heap of ashes.
And Rome knew of pomp and glory.
The Colisiem tells the story that the Woolworth building may repeat.
Dust,
Pharoh's and thier armies sleep there.
Dust,
Shall it stir again?
Will the Pharoah's rise and rule,
and thier armies march once more.
Civilaztion continully shifts upon the places of the earth.
I hope this isn't to forward of me to post this. My heart is broken into so many pieces over this issue. We are discussing it some of our classes at scholl. And I tend to get very upset over it all. I send a prayer for all those overseas, that this conflict ends soon and that all our heros come home to open loving arms.
Bye all,
Sixes.
