I was taking the 40 mg the way I should, that dosage was working enough to help me focus. At least enough so that I wasn't walking into walls, paying attention past the first two sentences of a conversation, able to remember the first 5 things on my list instead of just 2. I wasn't looking for miracles.

I didn't take it consistently because if I don't take it with food I get very, very nauseous. My meal habits are never consistent themselves. So I wouldn't take it unless I had eaten a good meal early in the day, and if I didn't eat until late afternoon I didn't take it at all so I wouldn't stay awake late.

So now I'm not bothering to take it at all. I'm going to end up with a surplus if I don't stop having the pharmacy automatically refill the Rx. At the same time, I don't want to not have it. As soon as things feel bad I'll want to take it again.

Anyone else go on and off their ADD meds?

I just started going on and off of the strattera myself, Last week I did not get enough sleep and caught a cold, and the pills made me feel fine , then i lost my voice. So I came off of them and I was sore all over and lethargic and forgetful and I needed lots of coffee to keep me awake. ON day 4 my libido came back so I know that that is not permanent. I lasted 8 days and could not handle it so I went back on them . well the other day my samples ran out and I had to fill a prescription it was 335 dollars . I went off of them 2 days ago and I could not fall asleep because I was couphing all night and could not get any sleep, so i gave in and took 2 of the 40s and within twenty minutes my nose was dried up and i could breath again. I have found out that the strattera does something to your sinuses and makes it so that you can breath through both nostrils. The problem is the price. I wish there was something for the libido, but there is not.

strattera is an interesting medication. it's even more interesting that you're able to go on and off of them and still get results.

do you metabolize fast? it is such a slow to act medication, i'm glad to hear that it works for you though.

if it were a stimulant, usually it's not a big deal to just go off of them here and there. (assuming you aren't dependent.) strattera seems like one of those meds that you shouldn't skip days with though, unless you're the kind of person who only needs to takes one every other day. i can't imagine the rollar coaster of withdrawal symptoms and side effects is any fun.
