OK so much for humility, but I must admit I am very proud of this. As of Aug 31 I have 20yrs clean and sober. Hard to believe. Couldn't have done it without all of the other addicts and alcoholics in my recovery. Thanks for all the help!!!!

Congrats, sir!

Myself, I have 2.5 years recovery behind me. I am being treated for bipolar, anxiety, and now add (non-hyper). I was wondering if (supposing you went to meetings) if you got any flak from the sober members regarding your medication.

Yeah actually I have gotten flak from some people in the rooms about being on meds. I always ask the person if he or she is a MD or Psy. In 20yrs I have not run into an MD's, they are all people who "know it all". My sponsor always quotes the Big Book where it talks about us going to experts to get help with outside issues. My depression and ADD is an outside issue and need to be treated by an MD. I ALWAYS talk to my MD about my alocholims/drug addiction. I ask the MD if he/she understand addiction. Most have, but some have not. I tend to move on from thouse who dont understand it. I want to make sure my MD understand addiction well and will not perscribe me anything I shouldn take.
That said, I take my meds because my brain chemisty isnt correct and these meds balance them out. No one critizes a diabetic for taking insulin. SO take criticism with a grain of salt. It is just a lack of understanding.
Great point and thanks for bring it up
