im a 24yr old male and i take adderall very sparingly. I probly take it at the most twice per week. I take it when i have much work to handle and it helps me concentrate and not loose focus. I new to the drug as well.

When i am on it, i love the feeling and love the focus but the only negative is the loss of sex drive. I am usually pretty good at getting arroused and dont have problems getting an erection but after i use adderal and when even a few days after not being on it my erections are still not what i would consider optimal.

Im also in pretty good shape and eat right.

reading this forum i see that guys either get super sex drive or loose it. For those that are in my boat what have you done? IS there anything you use to suppliment for loss of sex drive.

I am about to step out of the house so excuse my somewhat vague of a response, but an increase in NE (norepinephrine/adrenaline) correlates to lower sex drive. A simple search query will provide the semantics.

Just think...when your body has an increase of NE, especially a sudden one at that with the use of Adderall, it's engaging in the fight-or-flight response so the natural reaction is to survive not reproduce.

Also, if you were take it regularly and consistently I'm sure that symptom would correct itself.

You are doing more harm than good by your said seldom use.

Because you seldomely take it you're brain isn't used to the drug causing you to show more side-effects from it than people who take it on a regular basis.

That's not really true. Wellbutrin generally stimulates the sex drive, for example.

If anyone takes a very large dose or too large for them it will have the opposite effect, though. He just has a different threshold than most people, or else he is so focused on toher things he does not care about sex - sometimes on addy I will kind of realize in a shock how horrible the house is and feel like I have to clean up, for example.

Adderal does not seem to affect my sex drive much one way or the other.

Adderall kills my sex drive during the day...but when it wears off later in the night - I find that orgasms are MUCH more intense (which is expected because of the higher than normal levels of dopamine i suppose).

Are you prescribed the Adderall XR?
