My psychiatrist doesn't seem to have a problem with it, but my allergist voiced a concern that sometimes it's not good together b/c both are stimulants. Can anyone weigh in on this? I've taken Claritin-D since the mid-90s and am not about to give up taking this as it's the most effective thing for my allergies. Thanks.

claritin d does contain pseudoephidrine I believe that is used as a decongestant and to open up your airways to promote better breathing. They do issue precaution if using ritalin or adderall or adrenaline promoting medications when using claritin d. Yet, I've used the med in the past with no problems-

My only comment here is that there is a concern with combining Adderall and Pseudophedrine, so use with caution and watch for side effects. I myself have taken Pseudophedrine with my Adderall with no problem, but everyone is different, so reactions vary.
safe to mix but both can increase blood pressure.
just plain claritin works nearly as well and is much cheaper + you can add pseudoephidrine when needed.

Well, I haven't felt any heart palpitations or a racing pulse. Also, I had my blood pressure checked at the allergist's earlier this week and it was 110/80 (I'm 32 years old, female, thin but don't work out as much as I should, smoked before but have been essentially cigarette-free for over a year). I guess it's too soon to tell if it would affect my blood pressure in the long term? I'll talk to my doc about it. Thanks.
